I won't buy a car when the engine has been cleaned. I knew a man years ago that was a mechanic all his life. He said to stay away from used cars with clean engines. He said they been working on it! It made sense so I always remembered it.

Excellent job ! But I know what you need to get yourself for Christmas 🎄 A pump up applicator for the cleaning solution. Watching you pump that squirt bottle made my wrists cramp up 😁😅🤣
@corrado96832 жыл бұрын
That second application not only gives the engine a (new) look, but may also keep the plastic pliable to prevent cracking. Great video Anthony! Thanks!
@midas6172 жыл бұрын
Quite the opposite. solvent based products that contain petroleum like this. while it may look nice. they can lead to premature cracking or drying of rubber and plastics. Not to mention all the dirt and dust that it will attract because of how greasy it is. (hence, why techs dislike it) I use "Stoner Car Care 92034 Trim Shine Protectant" it not only protects. it's not greasy, and dry to the touch. won't attract dust. same look as anthony's engine without the greasiness and premature cracking and fading.

Just an opinion- I NEVER use water in an engine bay! I have learned the hard way...shorted the electric fan relay and overheated an engine, warped head.

You are the most honest car dealer I ever saw. All of your cars are the best, every dealer should be like you, you would never have a bad car on the road. One day I will trade my 2005 Lincoln Town Car Signature L on a Cadillac Brougham . Right now the Lincoln has 165,000 miles on it., I bought it used with 20,000 miles. Love watching your shows. Thanks for the tips, it's been a hot minute(several years or more) since I've done an engine bay and my '05 LTC Signature surely needs it done @ 66k miles. Don't think prior two owners let anyone touch it and it (engine compartment) needs to match the outside for a change...like new. Thumbs up deserved.

I'm so afraid to do that, you say don't get this ang that wet but yet you take the sprayer and spray everything, there's a lot of wires and connections that may get soaked.

Instead of that spray bottle get yourself a nice little pump sprayer. They’re like $15 in a big box store garden center or like $50 online for a nice chemical resistant one for auto body cleaner spray.

You should have disconnect the battery and/or not get the battery wet. Fluid laying on the battery can be a conduit between positive and negative. Spraying down the engine like that is bad. You are selling the car so you won't have it when the electronics and wiring go bad. Everybody needs to go watch Chris Fix tutorial on engine bay washing. I am surprised because this guy always seems to have a real love for his cars.

Nice! Whats the brand of the dressing you use?
@johnwagner45592 жыл бұрын
I use "totally awesome" from the dollar store. Its an all purpose cleaner. The best and most affordable you can use, TRUST ME! Personally, i use a long handle, long bristle scrub brush and detail brush for agitation which is the brst way to really clean something but good job. I would also spray your dressing into a microfiber applicator instead of just going nuts spraying everything, getting overspray everywhere. Makes me cringe.. I use aero cosmetics rubber care for my dressing...the best for a matte-satin black finish, Tires too. I am a detailer...but, that's me.
