To everyone asking about the perspex tray: Please watch 1:35-1:51 As i said in the video I can't film a tutorial on how to make this, because I've already made it and put it together, it would mean ordering new parts and making another base that I don't need. But it's really simple to do, I ordered perspex sheets cut to size to make a tray in the bottom, every cage is slightly different so you will need to measure the base of your cage and figure out how big the pieces need to be. The perspex sheets are all joined together with clear gorilla tape.

@MindfulVegan4 жыл бұрын
Are you able to please share with us the height of the perspex? The other measurements are unique to each cage, but the height would be helpful so we know how tall it might need to be in order to be effective. Love all your content! Thank you!

When I was around 6 years old my parents surprised me and my siblings with two rats. They’ll were beautiful, they were white and brown and white and black. I named them Shiloh and Cupcake, because Cupcake was more outgoing than Shiloh. I remember feeding them tater tots. Smart little creatures as well, we would let them free roam and they would come back at the call of their name. It was also where my love of small animals was born.

Snuggle them a lot as babies or else they are going to be more dependent on each other and want to play more than nuzzle the human when out of the cage. Rats are the greatest thing that you can bring in to your life. Pop over to my channel when you get a chance and check out the video of "Rivers and her human" It's hilarious. That was taken a week or two after she came to live with us. She died last week and we have been crushed by the loss. I tell you what, I never thought I would love such a tiny little thing so much. We give our fuzzies cloth bedding. Used to use aspen, but I do not miss dealing with shavings. They seem to enjoy flannel and fleece, layered, though we've had a couple of guys who don't like cloth under their igloos. I usually give them a couple layers of kitchen roll (paper towel for fellow Canadians) instead. Some of our rats have liked Yesterday's News in their litterboxes, but a few, including our current bunch, just push it right o0ut of the box. We had one boy who liked to landscape with it, building a little path from the litterbox to his favourite cardboard box. He was very organized. Your setups are a wonderful source of inspiration! We have three spider-rats-- they love to climb all over the cage walls and doors, especially when I walk into the room with their breakfast-- so leaving free-climb space is important. Our newly-neutered boy is about to move in with the ladies, so we'll be doing a huge cage clean and reorganization. The second DCN will become a play-space, so we're going to accessorize the heck out of it for their free-roam time. Your videos will definitely have an influence in what we do. Thank you for sharing your ratness with the world.

They come back on their own and will actually wake me up by shoving their whiskers in my nose....or rubbing up against me to let me know that they're ready to go back in her cage. So adorable. They are very expressive. They let me know when they're hungry and they let me know when they want to just go exploring. I speak "rat" now, I guess. 😀
