"Our engineers study every detail of a hamster's life" The problem with this statement is right there: Why are the ENGINEERS studying the hamsters' life? Shouldn't their biologists or zoologists or whatever study this? 🤔 And I'm saying this as an engineer in training ... Nowhere in our curriculum is there anything about hamsters 🤷

Engineers are the one's doing the cage. As an engineer in active I have good advice for you. Engineering is half about engineering itself, the other half about random stuff related to what you are building/projecting/designing/managing. The mechanical engineer that designed the cage, the wheel, the bottle, the tubes, the connections of everything, the lid opening technology in solidworks or other cad software must know the hamster size, requirements, etc. I hope you take this nice advice for your professional carreer. I am fortunate however my hamster was almost like waiting for my because I left for a trip for almost 2 weeks (all of the pets had the rest of my family none were left alone) and he took his final breathes in the comfort of me and my family after a long hard fight! I just chucked this last week! I didn't want to risk anyone using it for an actual hamster. I also attached it to a pet store cage to expand it. My poor hammy couldn't climb straight up. We had to lay everything down and have it as one level. There is even a danger that they can fall and get really hurt. He seemed to like the little pod areas where I put a sand bath, and another was for food. He was able to run back into his original cage too. I found the ventilation was not good. Also, it was really hard to keep it all clean. He ended up getting a severe foot injury somewhere in there. I took him to multiple vets who tried a number of antibiotics. I eventually found your channel and got him into a 40 gallon breeder for the last 6 months of his life. He had a beautiful German-style cage that he really enjoyed, even with his bad foot. Poor guy!!! Now I look at this cage and it brings back such horrible memories:(

I’ve seen some people take parts of it and seal of the end, and use those as hamster carriers. They’ll put their rodents in there when they get them or bring them somewhere. It’s pretty interesting actually

Your videos are amazing! I got a roborovoroski yesterday and my mother got her a crittertrail with 260 Sq inches. I'm getting her a bin cage with 610 square inches in 4 weeks!

I love your videos at first my hammie was living in a really small wired cage with half inch bedding but you taught me so much and it lives a happy life in a bin cage with lots of toys

I'm very happy that Victoria will spend a lot of time to explain why these cages aren't proper (I think there are more than 3 videos talking about the small cages?) and I'm sure that people will listen one day :)

Thank you for educating kindly. So many people have no idea how hamsters are to be treated (including myself, until a friend saw my hamster in a crittertrail and offered to buy a proper cage and also recommended me to your channel), because they trust the pet store, because why wouldn't you trust the place that is taking care of the pet you bought, right? You think you've done your research because you read the pamphlet they gave you full of false information, and they tell you that's all you need. So thank you for making videos like these and not just outright bashing everything, but instead explaining why it is improper for a hamster.

The fact that majority of people ( even people who like spending time indoors) complained about not being able to leave their home and feeling bored at home during lockdown. I hope people learn from that experience and realise that the feelings they felt is what small pets in tiny cages feel similar to, but the only difference is they have to spend their whole lives like that. I recently downgraded myself to a single bed, and made my hamster cage even bigger. I think a lot of the times there can be ways around fitting in a bigger cage such as moving all your furniture around in a more efficient way or even making a cage that's multiple levels like Erinsanimals cage.

I completely agree! I always believe if you really care there always will be a way to make something work. As a kid I was always looking for ways to save money so I could buy my hamster's better things.

I know you won’t see this but I want you to know how grateful I am because you changed me from almost getting a 10 gallon tank to now having a 10 in wheel and a 792 sq in enclosure so thank you

Question where do you find sand for them??? Sorry I couldn’t find any 😂
@VictoriaRaechel3 жыл бұрын
Usually any petstore, typically in the reptile section you can find sand that is dye and calcium free, or in the small pet section Chinchilla sand.

Victoria Claw Stars is like a game that I play and is pretty much like it. It is called coin master. Although it's super pay to win, if you play it normally without upgrades, its super fun, you spin for coins and spins, and there are things like Attack or Raid. Attack only works if the person doesn't have a shield. Raid is when u have 3 chances and can steal coins. You work hard and upgrade your village, and you can also collect cards, and trade for the cards you need with friends. It's called coin master.

Bin the wheel, fill the main body with sand, alter the tubes and put it inside a big play box for a bit of an additional change. You can find some of these older style models second hand to rob/adjust for a play box ( that's all they're good for ! ).
