You are seriously the most entertaining R/C dude on KZbin. I just picked up a second-hand RC10GT2 and am super excited about it, because it's been around 12 years since I last had a nitro RC. You've made me almost more excited about cleaning it than driving / tuning it LOL.. Awesome video dude GREAT info! When you're done with your cars, they look even better than new ones that just came out of the box!

best cleaning video I've seen! I learned some new things/techniques in this video, and also saw some familiar things. It proves once again that a air compressor is a MUST HAVE in this hobby :) Thanks for uploading this video!

Thanks Bro! We definitely need a Air compressor in this hobby! It just helps out so much especially if your cleaning more then one RC...

BOTAJELL I usually only clean the clutch, engine, and the transmission, the only parts that really matter and I strip them down and wipe them and put them all back together. It's a two hour process.
@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
I remember them days!! I used to do the same thing ! Nothing wrong with that because it only makes you a better RC Mechanic and you get really know your RC if you do it that way but if you have more then one RC or if you run your RC day after day many times out of the year or if you have a wife and some kids like me and don't have enough time in a day to do everything like me ? Then this video shows you how I clean my RCs for years and years with no problems . My 7 year old LOSI 5T servos still work and my 12 year old LOSI LST2 servos still work and they are not waterproof. I use Amsoil MP on the electronics or WD-40

@BOTAJELL7 жыл бұрын
Thank you my friend!! Chris is a great guy and loves the RC hobby just like I do and that's no joke right there!! I'm not as professional as Chris and probably will never be so please don't mind me once in awile if I cus !!!! I can't make good videos bro but I think I do help out a few people every now and then but lately it's bin every day!! My unprofessional channel is real and and no suger coating anything and the little people I do have and work with are considered like my family!! This is like one big family! As you are aware I'm sure by now you know that I don't do E-words anymore right?? I did race 🏁 them for T/A & LOSI when LOSI was 💯% LOSI that used SAE hardware!! I've always did NITRO & GAS ⛽️ and even raced gas! But now my mission is to help out as many people as I can with NITROs so the slow death of Nitro can slowdown or hopefully Stop and reverse it so we could have better NITROs and GAS because Gas is also on its way out and we can't let that happen!! There's nothing like a good Braaapen real life motor!! Something about a Piston and cylinders that just gets me pumped! But it's not that easy and we need to take care of them as well and I also love that probably even more? So I am here for any questions that a newbie may have or even a guy that knows there shit may also need to know about a carb or a pipe or clutches or head shims or whatever! I am here for them!!! I may do a scale someday but I am always and forever NTRO/GAS guy first! I'm friends with many E-word guys as well and I'm subbed to some of them as well . Thanks for stopping by bro! I hope you don't mind my shity videos with no music 🎶 and unprofessional editing but like I said , it is real NO BS. If your with us ? Then welcome to the family bro!! If your not yet ? You are welcome anytime to join us !!! Any friend of Chris that makes it happen is a friend of mine bro!!!

Wow, just saw this video and nice job. Since I live in a condo (no access to a water hose) I use throttle body cleaner. Have been using it for about 20yrs on all my RC's. Then I use silicone on all the plastic. Guess I'm going to try this method out. We have a water hose and air compressor at the yard where I work. I have plenty of Simple Green that the wife uses for cleaning. Yup gonna give this a try, those RC'S looked better than new when you were done with them.
@BOTAJELL8 жыл бұрын
Nasim Wehbe thanks man! Good luck with the wash! Throttle body cleaner is a great idea and I have used that as well but it will become $$$ pricy if I have to do that every time I run my RCs and to have to clean more then one RC

BOTAJELL You're welcome! Yea, definitely check it out. It has a very odd smell, kind of like black licorice, but it goes away after you are done spraying. I keep it on all of my tires when I know I'm not going to be using them for a while, because it helps preserve rubber. At the very least I think it would work very well on engine components and tank. I'm going to try it out using your cleaning method very soon. Here's a link to their website below. Keep up the great work & videos! 👍 ballistol.com

You are right, its about washing it off, removing the moisture and protecting it.... mild all purpose cleaner, WD40 and when you coat it with silicone, the parts just love you, especially the plastics, their plasticity is restored. Dismantling is not the answer

Hey botajell I'm Benji from Rockford Illinois. Digging ur channel. I have a question. Wat would u say is a better choice after playing in water with my rc trucks cars Should I use silicone spray lubricant or like a dry spray lubricant. For squeaks and moving parts. Please let me know. I'm not much of a wd40 guy. Thanks man. Keep em poked lol ....
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
rcfreakbenji m bro Silicone spray is the best and a must! If it’s good for my RedWings Work Boots and Winter ❄️ jackets It’s great for your RCs!!! You can get different types of silicone sprays like some can look wetter and some can go on normal but dry up like you never sprayed anything. Some can be Bone Dry!! Spray silicone is great protection for your bearings, plastics, rubber, and metals !!! WD-40 or Amsoil’s MP stands for Metal Protection will remove water 💦/ Moisture out of Electronics safely but you must blow out with compressed air!!!

Yes only for the electronics but if I ever run out of Amsoil MP or if the only thing that there is to use is WD-40 then I will use it. Hey botajell. Rcfreakbenji. Question on shocks. I have the losi 8 3.0 e rtr buggy. (Yellow). I cannot get my shocks to rebound correctly wen I hold them at full rebound and screw shock cap on it the one shock will slowly move to full rebound the one im having problems with with wen I put to full rebound put in cap it barely moves shock shaft any tips. First time on setting rebound please help lol.

@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
rcfreakbenji m first thing I would do is upgrade to the 4.0 Nitro Race Kit Shocks!! Then do not use the bladders! Use the open gasket/bladder/O-ring thing I forget the correct name of it but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about hopefully? Then once you use that fill them up with the same weight oil as they recommend in the race kit because that shit works even for heavy bashing trust me ! Then bleed the shocks buy using the bleeder holes that are on the 4.0 shock caps! You can look at my 4.0 Truggy build videos to see how I bled them on my shocks. I also have and built the TLR 4.0 Nitro Buggy and I did the same thing to that as I did my truggy! Use exactly what the 4.0 Nitro Race Kit gives you in the box! Springs and all from front to rear! It will be a great and huge improvement on your E-word RTR Buggy
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
rcfreakbenji m you should do a Nitro conversion on that thing lol 😝!! That would be a bad ass video! It would be so Zeeeeeaah!!! Let me know if you need help if you ever go nitro? John, except for the Silicone Spray, that's pretty much how I have cleaned my shit....... And after seeing this, that will be added to the Job as well. 👍👍😎 I miss my Compressor! That's definitely on the list of things to get back... Right now, my only Compressor is the small one I use for Airbrushing. Although, and maybe a Tip you could share..... If anyone can't afford a nice Air Compressor, they could just get a 5 or 10 Gallon Air Tank! They're cheap, places like Wally World or Auto Zone sell them. OH - and it should really come with a Pressure Regulator. You just take it to you local Gas Station and fill it up. The good ones should hold about 300-500psi, which should be enough Air to clean and dry at least two Rigs!! 😉🍺🍺🍺☕☕ I just recently did just that on my last Rig, my Axial Wraith. I had plenty of Air to Spare after. So..... When I can get my REAL Rig ⛽⛽💥💥⛽⛽, that should work out fine for that! I gotta remember the Silicone Spray! It's something I ALWAYS use on the 1/1 Vehicles. The Desert Air DESTROYS Rubber, Plastic and Leather out here. The Silicone nearly DOUBLES their lifespan!! 👍👍😎 Carmine ⛽

Go to harbor freight or sears and pick up a 30 gallon or bigger but if you can’t afford it at the moment? You can get a 20 or a 15 gallon! Please do not get a smaller compressor then that because you will waste your money because anything that small will suck ass !! Job will not come out well and be so annoying

WD-40 is hydro-static, not sure if you're using silicone and calling it WD. Just made me cringe you saying WD. WD will seep deep in, once dry it attracts water. Take some nails, soak them in WD, then let them sit. Silicone repels water WD attracts. Good way to destroy motorcycle chains, WD gets passed the o-ring and causes rust.
@BOTAJELL8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike for your comment Bud . I like to use MP from AMSOIL to displace moisture from electronics but I also use WD-40 if I don't have any MP around. I use a spray SILICONE at the end for everything and I'll try to let it soak in good on all the rubber and plastics so it will help repel Dirt,Dust, and water . Back in the day when I worked at my uncles shop we used WD-40 on the distributor cap on the older cars that would be wet after a egine degrease and clean and it always used to work. At my job today on top of the roof I used WD-40 on the wet Electronics of a Big AC unit I shit you not lol!!! The WD stands for Water Displacement - and the 40 stands for the 40 times they tried to get the formula correct. I do work on MCs and ATVs and sometimes Jet-skis as well and after a good degrease and power wash if I don't have any MP I will use WD-40 just to help remove any moisture on electronics and it also gives the metals a temporary protective coating against rust or to prevent damage that could occur from salt from the salt water. I never use WD-40 on chains unless the chain is crap dirty or really rusted. I'll use it to clean the chain off and get it ready for chain wax.

if you're not stretching your chassis you're not having any fun.

You should try GT85

Thanks bro Good to know, I will!

Will the GT85 repel dirt and water like a SILICONE spray or is it more like a Penetrating oil? Sometimes I'll test out SILICONE sprays on my work boots to know what works good as far as repelling water and dirt . I like how the Amsoil did. If I get the gy85 I would test it out on my boots but if it's an oil and not something that will dry up like a SILICONE spray then it's not for me to use after every time I run my RCs but maybe great to use if I plan for a long storage?

BOTAJELL i use it every time i finish my race or a practice day. I blow some air with the compressor and then spray the hole car with it and the servos (it doesn't hurt your servos) Here is the link: gt85.co.uk/gt85-original/

BOTAJELL hey another question for ya. Wat do u think of the losi 8 truggy rtr nitro ?? Prolly gonna pick it up fri ...
@BOTAJELL6 жыл бұрын
rcfreakbenji m it’s great to start out with or for kids or adults that can’t afford the professional race kit like the TLR 3.0 or 4.0 kits. My 11 year old daughter has one and she loved it more then her E word summit and her nitro HPI savage.25. I even drove the Losi RTR Truggy a few times and beat on it for a bit and jumped it and it always just keeps going . That’s awesome and congratulations with your buy !!

I'd too scared to use water on servos
@BOTAJELL4 жыл бұрын
Yes most people are , especially new people to the hobby . All my old servos still work today and it’s definitely from using MP and or WD-40 after each wash that’s what displaces the water/moisture off my electronics on my RC’s . I have so many rc’s so I don’t have time to slow down and clean other ways I must do things quick as possible and if a servo goes bad ? I’ll just replace it and or upgrade to a better one . Most of my servos are NOT water 💦 proof today but if I upgrade I’ll try to buy those if the torque and speed are good on them. I only use MP or WD-40 on my electronics !! I do not use it all over my rc ! I use spray silicone for that ! That’s a must do for wheels and plastics
