Excellent! I’ve been consistently whittling down my backlog since the beginning of 2020. So far I’ve finished 200. Sure I’ve added some games here and there for sure. But a lot of what I had sitting in that pile forever is finally finished. I’ve got eh about 40 or so left minus games to come.

Great video Man! I also have a similar issue, albeit with about 50 games I want to beat. I find it hard to stay invested into long RPGs for 100+ hours, despite enjoying them. I'll give your list strategy a try!

I agree, games that are more then 15 hours, quickly becomes harder for me to pick up. I don't know if rotating games after a point will help this, I might try it.

I was about to subscribe anyway until you said Super Mario Sunshine was like your favorite ever; then I HAD TO SUB!! People give that game hell and I think it was pretty amazing. Great video bro!! Keep’em coming!!👍🏽👍🏽

I realised that I do not need to 100% every achievements, simply just play through what's possibly easy to earn and quit at 99%. I have dealt with burnout and I still have so long as I enjoy every parts of the game I will call it quits.

I kinda liked that Duke Nukem Forever got mentioned, without someone completely shitting on how bad it is. I felt the same, was it good? Not really no, but I played it at time where it felt like a breath of fresh of air, compared to the usual AAA nonsense we get nowadays. So I enjoyed my time with it too. Now back to the video lol.

I’ve accepted that I’ll never finish my backlog. Even though I own more games than I could ever play, I continue to buy more. I tend to buy every game I’m interested in because I’d rather waste money on it today while it’s available for a decent price than try to find a good condition copy later on when I feel like playing it but it’s been removed from the digital stores and used copies are three times more expensive and look like they’ve been put through a meat grinder. Seriously, why don’t people do a better job in keeping their physical games in good condition?

Finishing 63 games is a lot. I can only manage to beat about 25 across all platforms in one year. I had to finish 20 of those because they were departing Gamepass.

Your take on the games you played is quite enjoyable. I really liked the bits of your story you gave us, like the trip to Best Buy for a graphics card that lives in your head. I get the impression you put a lot of effort into this video; I look forward to your next video. I hope it's alright to offer a few criticisms. The voice recording quality would benefit greatly from backing away from the mic more and getting a pop filter. The very frequent pops are grating to listen to. There are several free audio editing software options that could go a long way for fixing things like the changes in your recording volume, as well as reducing pop sounds, and much more, in post-production. Your delivery lacks cadence (finality.) When you end a sentence with an upward inflection, it implies a question (in English.) You frequently end your statements with upward inflection when you clearly aren't implying a question. After watching the video, its title feels misleading. I was interested in hearing your strategy for clearing your backlog and how it helped you. I was disappointed when your entire strategy was explained in three seconds, make a list of games you beat to keep yourself motivated, and never mentioned again. When you took a break and lost motivation, you didn't turn to your strategy for regaining that motivation. No mention of looking at your list, feeling proud, imagining the list growing, nothing like that. You just picked up another game and kept pushing through. In the conclusion, you say you had a goal and stuck to it, which is true if you were only trying to stick with the attempt to clear your backlog for one year. The goal you presented to us in the title of the video was clearing your gaming backlog, not just trying to play as many games as you can in a year. You don't even mention your list strategy in the conclusion. This could have been two well structured videos. One of those being a thirty minute long "My 2 Cents on the Games I Cleared in 2023" and a two minute video on why trying to push through your backlog, just because you have a backlog, is not a fun way to fail at pushing through your backlog. You could even extend the second video by explaining that your strategy of having a list of games you've beaten recently didn't actually help you and why.

My back log will NEVER be "cleared". I've got about 30 Switch games, 25 PS4 games & 35 or 40 Xbox Seris games to play. ...and I STILL have not purchased a PS5. I may end up getting one when they're like $200 in every pawn shop.
