Nice work. I have 2 David Brads and already have the motor mounted to a Cub Cadet for testing and thought about putting on one of the brads. Searched youtube to see if anyone had done it and glad to see it work. I am making my battery cells myself, for now I am running my Cub Cadet off 2 -24V drill batteries. So looks like it is a new project.

Way to go Tyler! Those David Bradley tractors sure look solid and it's definitely a perfect candidate for conversion. Yours looks great and I think it'll bring you tons of enjoyment and years of service. Better still, you've now built a useful battery electric vehicle and others are sure to follow as you enjoy the precision, control and quiet power of an electric drivetrain. Great job and good work on the conversion. Don't forget fuses on main power and sometimes on accessory circuits. Remember that battery can deliver enough current for welding and a short circuit or momentary error can be really costly and scary or just burn a fuse. I've tried both and fuses are the way to go.

That would be a neat setup! I don't have a sicklebar to test out with, but might have to look around. It would probably take some configuration changes to give it an auxiliary PTO connection to the electric motor.

I was looking into doing this on an old Bolens Power Hoe but think I'm going to go with a small single cyl diesel for $209. Seems like things I have that sit outside for long periods (trailer lights, ignition switches on mowers) develop electrical issues so why add more electrical issues? I do have 3 Ge Elec-Trac mowers but my diesels are less trouble & more efficient than my gas tractors.

I realize you did this video over 2 years ago, however, I just found it. I too am a David Bradley enthusiast and actually have two units. I'm doing a full restoration on the better one. I like your idea of electric, however, think the belt drive would have worked as well if not better than the bicycle sprocket and chain. Much more durable and less maintenance.

Hi My DB came with a stock 6hp motor. Because you went with a different gear ratio you were able to get more effective power out of the smaller electric motor. How do you feel that it pulls with that ratio? could you push a snow plow? can you bog it down if you wanted to?

Have you seen roughly how long is the battery is lasting when you are running it under load?

It's lasted me a few hours, but I haven't needed to run it in any situation that goes from dusk to dawn. I run a smaller market, so I'm not running it for long stretches at a time. It often sits for extended periods where the battery drains and needs to be recharged. Fairly difficult to give an accurate idea of how much time per charge.

You are running the tires wrong, when they pull in soft ground, the v pattern should spread mud, soft soil to the sides making more firm soil for the tire. Yours pull mud into the center, very pour traction.
