We've traditionally swapped out batteries on a regular basis so that our fence remains charged. We're repurposing some solar panels and using a new solar charge controller to charge a 120 Amp-Hour battery.
Curious how to do it? Here you go!
---
Solar Charger (The one used in this film is no longer stocked. This is a comparable replacement) - amzn.to/3p8YQD2
Solar Panel (Get the one with mounting brackets included and save yourself some hassle) - amzn.to/2U3QHBx
Battery (We used a 120AH in this video, but a smaller 100AH is more common and less expensive) - amzn.to/3n412tS
Electric Fence Charger (We use the X3 model and that covers up to 45 acres with multiple strands) - amzn.to/355LRdi
Solar panel extension (The panels aren't quite long enough to go anywhere, so use these cables to extend your range) - amzn.to/3eCTivK
Multiple Solar Panel Connector (Use this if you are using multiple solar panels) - amzn.to/3l4cJQy
Fence Voltage Tester (We use this to verify we have enough voltage going through our fence. It's much better than testing by our own hands!) - amzn.to/3khcgcN
Wire Nuts (If you don't have any, just get a variety pack and use the best fitting one) - amzn.to/3n422hC
Wire Strippers (If you don't have a pair, you should just get a generic type of strippers or use a box cutter. If you want a decent set, this is what we use. You shouldn't need to strip the solar panel wires if you used the above panel.) - amzn.to/3ezxFg1
Let me know below if I missed anything!
