I made this video just over a month into withdrawal when my skin was at its worst and I really didn't know how to help my skin. I was in panic mode. I was using so many products to try and help the dryness but it just made it weep more. As the months passed, I learnt that less is definitely more - I ended up only using Auaphor as my moisturiser. No oils, no lotions. Going through withdrawal is very much a trial and error, so find what works you.

Your make up is beautiful, you have a such an incredible attitude and you are stunning, EVEN without the makeup. Honestly. Thank you so much for sharing. Hi!! Glad you messaged! I have to keep a positive outlook otherwise id cry everyday lol Im going out tonight too n thank good my redness has died down a lot, still flaking abit tho. Another tip, is do ur make up literally before u leave the house so it gives u the most wear time. It is disheartening to see ur skin like that but remember skin heals. Its been 5 days and my skin looks nothing like in the vid. How do u manage ur eczema? Do you use steroids?
@vickysawyer7 жыл бұрын
Great idea, thanks so much! I'll make sure I'm beating my face just before I leave. It's so strange to sometimes have a perfect skin day and think "OMG I've beat it!! It's gone" and the next day you're at square one again. But like you said, skin heals. At the moment I'm using a shea butter and almond oil mix and use a coffee scrub lightly for those super flaky dry days. The steroids only come out if I'm beyond coping (maybe once every few months). How are you finding TSW? I've been thinking about taking the plunge for years but it seems super scary! xx

My eyebrows have also turned into crap I feel like I lost one completely lol . Omg! We are so similar I also carry aquaphor in my bra as well!!! Lol I have the actual chapstick though. Colombian_ Jenn Thank you.... again lol! I think when im dry like now (ive past the weeping stage) aquaphor is a lifesaver. Buy the healing ointment like the one i show in the vid n try that on ur face. Yes it feels greasy but after 15 mins the flakes become soft n u can gently rub it away with a towel. It helps that plasticky skin feel... for me anyway x

I’m going through tsw now and it’s only my second month, but it can be so frustrating when it seems to have cleared then reappears with a vengeance. I’m lucky I don’t have it too bad because I didn’t really use ts as much or as long as many people do, just in patches on my neck, eyelids, and near my smile lines. I work at a salon and medical spa so it’s important for me to look clean and presentable and tsw has taken a blow to my self esteem, but I’m just doing the best I can and trying not to be too hard on myself. Hi Zain! I can relate to what you are going through and find it very inspiring that you are so positive. I think I made a comment about Goldbond Collidal Oatmeal lotion on one of your other videos. It is the only thing I have been using to moisturize. I have eczema on my face, neck, arms, and tops of my thighs and it has been so helpful. I apply it throughout the day anytime I'm feeling dry. On days I do not wear makeup, I just rinse with water and do not use any face soap. On the days I do wear makeup, I use one of the cetaphil washes. I try to not wear make up that often because I find my face is always a little irritated after. It is really hard to not wear make up and go out when my eczema is flared though. I also use the Aveeno Collidal Oatmeal bath treatments, cold water compresses, and sometimes cold milk compresses. I know milk compresses sound weird but I read somewhere that the lactic acid in milk helps with the flaking and I found it to be very soothing as well. It took about 2 months to see a drastic improvement using these products. I am still pretty dry and flaky in some areas but I am doing so much better. I hope you get some relief soon!
@iambeezee7 жыл бұрын
ansleygeno im using salt baths at the moment, great for an oozy face but not so much when im dry so i will deffo buy some aveeno bath. I really wanna go make up free but not when im this red. Ill admit im still embarrassed by how red it gets!
@ansleygeno7 жыл бұрын
My derm told me to moisturize as much as possible! Try the baby aveeno oatmeal bath. I found it in the baby isle. They have a lot of other eczema products in the baby isle too. I really just tried to simplify everything I was using, hypoallergenic baby shampoo and conditioner, cetaphil face wash for make-up days, and the goldbond lotion. It is sooo hard to go make up free when I have a flare. Usually people stare or ask questions, but it's usually just out of concern. I found that I cared a lot more about the way I looked than other people. Just remember that you are beautiful with or without eczema!

Just a few tips, from one girl with severe eczema to another, I have really dry skin and I find using very natural inexpensive products such as coconut oil is useful for taking make up off and moisturises your skin so well. It's not harsh at all. Another product for moisturising is zero base it is completely unscented and alcohol free which you can get from the doctors or the pharmacy. When applying your oil wet the cotton pad with Luke warm water and then apply the oil, there will be less waste and you won't have the cotton pad pulling and scraping the skin which makes dry skin worse. Make up wise powder for me is a no go, but hey everyone is different. I use very dewy foundation every day to cover redness, I apply powdered highlighter and bronzer without powder. a little bit of shine is better then the drying out powder does to your skin, especially if you bake. I light dusting is all you need! I hope some of these tiny tips make your skin and pain a little better!

Amazing Grace thank you for this! Although i love coconut oil for my hair, it doesnt really work for my skin too much but i will take the water on the cotton pad tip!

Thank you so much for this video. Question how often do you retouch and when you do is it just with powder or do you also use foundation. Halfway though my day all my makeup is gone
@iambeezee3 жыл бұрын
Omg I never replied! I very rarely touch up when im out. But I do find putting more powder/foundation on top of already set make up makes it look cakey. What foundation are you using? Where dies it disappear, nose is a common spot. Are you using enough for coverage? Are you setting with powder? Are you touching your face alot through the day? Are you dry or greasy? Not sure if you need eczema help too or just make up tips I have 2 suggestions. Don't touch up. Do you make up and be ready to accept that after x amount of hours it's going to fade. I did this during the worst of TSW, I would only plan to be out for 4 hours max. I would do my make it last so its FRESH out the door then leave when my make up is looking bad. On the other hand if you must reapply, I would lightly apply foundation again then powder OR even remove make up where it looks bad then reapply, making sure to moisturise beforehand. If u use a beauty blender instead of a brush that would give the best result Hope this helps!

Recently my family has undergone this massive change of switching to natural remedies because of an issue that occurred with my asthma medications. It caused so many side effects like seizures and fainting. After getting off of that, we started wondering what other medication could be affecting me and I started looking into steroid withdrawal and what it is. Finding your channel and Karen Wang's has given me a boost of motivation and fear of starting TSW after using it for 21 years. madtingsadting yes i have! And call me sceptical but ive kind of lost faith in medicine (which is so ironic because i studied pharmaceutical science in uni!) Dupixent looks good the way it works is amazing but again i question what are the long term effects of it? We won't know till all those people on the trials tell us in 5, 10, 20 years. It may turn into the same story as steroids. Start of as a miracle but then long term use may cause other complications. But again, it may not! We dont know yet is the truth. But id rather not have to depend on an injection for the rest of my life, like i thought i was going to have to do with the creams Hope that makes sense!

U probably had just REALLY dry chapped lips and had a reaction yo something. I WISH my eczema could be cured over night by Vaseline 😂 unfortunately eczema is a life long thing.

Zainab Danjuma lmao I had eczema when I was little and it started again this summer and I’ve had it for about 2 months but the Vaseline helped in less than a week around my lips

Do you have allergy or atopic. I think you must stop using foundation and avoid rubbing your face with strong force. i’m also have sensitive skin, and what i do, is always using cleansing oil gently massage it then wipe it with cold towel or wash it, then lather my facial soap before i put it on my face then massage it with bubble gently for few seconds then rinse it with cold water, and dried it with towel like patting it gently, then apply my skincare which is moisturizer and a drop of squalane oil, and for applying make, i also using same skin care, then a UV Base Light Foundation and press powder,instead of powder foundation.

Excelsior Cafe this is more than just sensitive skin. I have eczema n now I'm going through Topical Steroid Withdrawal. I wear make up when I feel the occasion calls for it, this time it was Christmas with my family. Since January i haven't worn make up every day. My skin is doing sooo much better now n i no longer have these cuts on my face thank God. It's just time that can really heal it. I can't use powder foundation it's to dry for my skin, n I use only water to wash my face now. It's all about finding what works for u...

Do you find that the make up irritates your skin? I feel like I wanna itch it all off when I put it on lol.
@iambeezee7 жыл бұрын
Naomi Batts it really depends. Up until this week i had no problems with make up in fact it helped me because it forced me to not touch my face n scratch! Make up has never made my skin flare up But this week my skin has gone haywire as u can see in the vid very red. I think the day of the vid (26th december) was the last time i wore make up for about 5 days. So i do have days inbetween.... but now im back at work, i have no choice but to cover up even a bit

Did you ever use topical steroids on your face if so how long and what strength? I used a potent steroid on face daily for 5 years now my skin on face is really discolored and dark compared to nose. I get weeping around the mouth and skin flakes and have really rough skin im 2 years in to tsw its so hard
@iambeezee6 жыл бұрын
Swaggination unfortunately I did. I can't say how long it wasn't everyday and it wasn't all over. I put it underneath my right cheekbone as I had a patch there and between my eye brows. I was using elocon and betnovate. I used such tiny amounts, the tip of my finger nail and mixed it in with my moisturiser and still I'm going through withdrawal. I was using the creams on various parts of my body for about 20 years. My nose is completely clear too lol
@mastakilla_2k2186 жыл бұрын
Zainab Danjuma oh okay and I never really used them on my body parts just face my face is super itchy at night when I sleep. I think your lucky you mixed with moisteriser I just put on steroid cream elecon by itself daily which I think he's really badly discolored my skin. I did go through stages were my entire body was shedding skin everywhere about 7 or 8 months into tsw it was horrible I couldn't even function without bathing before leaving home. I hope their is light at the end of the tunnel for us fellow tsw suffers and the doctors who prescribe these should have some form of punishment.

@@mastakilla_2k218 Hello! I have a situation similar to yours How often and how many times a day did you apply to your face? I also applied 5 years every day 1 only time per day. minimum quantity and in 3 or 4 zones only. but i'm on tsw 1 month ago and it's hell like you took it at first I do not mind the future marks will be removed with laser or something but if abstinence is difficult

did u follow dis same routinewhen u wr in flaky-shedding stage of tsw? i personally didnt face any issue while applying make up, bt wen i removed it wid cottob pads + coconut oil, i damanged my skin amd woke uo wid oozy face the next morning. Can u share some hack to prevent that? thanks x
@iambeezee4 жыл бұрын
@@raaghvisharma6687 when I was red qnd flakey I stopped wearing make up. I only wore it for filming videos so i used make up remover only once a week/2 weeks. If removing make up irritates ur skin eliminate that by not wearing make up as much. Maybe every other day or just a couple times a week. Also coconut can be very irritating to skin. I know everyone goes on about it but just Google how it can irritate broken skin and thats what we have. Save coconut oil for moisturising healed skin but definitely not for red, oozy, flakey skin.

Doesn’t your makeup burn your skin? Because mine does (I suffer from severe eczema)

Charlotte Bouilloux It did when my skin is really bad n the skin is splitting. But normally no. Maybe ur foundation has something in it ur skin doesn't like?

I don't understand how can you put make-up on affected TSW skin. Isn't extremely itchy, sensitive, weeping and would become worse when you irritate it even more?

I'm telling you, when your face starts weeping with the eczema, id much rather be dead than feel the burning itchy sensations and uncomfortablity. Eczema is awful
