Brook, thank you so much for these videos about your eczema! I've had eczema all my life but recently I have flare ups on my typical areas, and now it's all over my face. I watch this video every morning while I'm getting ready as a little reminder that I'm not alone. :') I really appreciate your videos!

My eyes do the same thing I find it almost impossible not to rub them 🙈I find using warm cotton pads on them when there really sore to sooth them and stop me rubbing, then Vaseline to stop them drying as there's almost nothing you can use on your eyes! And anti histamines/eye drops, hope this helps!

Mine do the same! My eczema, up until the last 5 months, didn't manifest on my face but now my eyes are always extremely swollen, red, the undereye area looks like elephant skin and cracks open....I'm a mess to put it lightly. You are in no way alone. And I agree completely, eczema is a big pile of suck.
@hilaryforgie44986 жыл бұрын
That happened to me a few years ago. Perhaps for some people it improves over the years as the skin matures. I think it was seasonal for me; fall and spring were the major flare ups that left me with anxiety at school. I use CeraVe combination skin cleanser and lotion for my face. When I had puffy eyes, I would take allergy medication, drink a lot of water, put a cold cloth on my eyes, and use prescribed ointment that de-puffed it leaving it just dry within several hours. There's an interesting cookbook called the Eczema Diet; basically it has recipes for food that puts your body pH at the right level. If you have highly acidic foods like dairy, sugar, too many spices, it may trigger flare ups. Basically controlling eczema seems to be unique for every sufferer and over time coping with it will get better (think positive!). When there is a flare up, figure out any possible causes (too much laundry detergent, diet, absent-minded scratching, cleansers, sensitivity to season changes, etc.).

Demi-Leigh S i have eczema, and I only use CC Cream, BB Cream or super light foundations, and I try to avoid any silicone based primer, hope this helps!
@lareessahhh7 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem! I used to use the it cosmetics bb (or cc idr) cream which is nice but it's too thick for my skin now that it's being flaky. I like the bare minerals hydro gel tint as well but I do prefer to mix the two together actually. Another thing that can help is to press NOT RUB! a smoothie primer onto the skin to hold down your skin so it won't flake off as much. I hope that helps you!

Just found your channel tonight and subscribed! I have struggled with eczema my entire life. I actually was flare up free most of my later teen years and the past about 2ish years I've had the worst flare ups of my life and it's just been constant. It's incredibly frustrating and I feel like I've tried everything. I'm so embarrassed about it. I normally don't flare up on my face but lately around my eyes have had flare ups. I normally have the most extreme flare ups all over my legs and patches on my arms. I want to constantly keep my entire body covered even when it's super hot here. I'm 21 and I'm a mom now and I don't want my son to see me ashamed of something I can't really control when he's older. Your videos are truly inspiring to me!!!!

I've had psoriasis since I was 15 and I've found that organic coconut oil really works best for my face. I apply it in the shower. After I shower I mix coconut oil and sensitive skin baby Lotion together and my face feels great. If I know I'm not going anywhere I'll use eucerin moisturizer. It's just really thick so I only like to wear it when I stay home.

I am using vanicream now but I also use Kiehl's products those don't bother my skin when using them as moisturizer. Midnight recovery concentrate from Kiehls seems to work to calm down the blemish skin like mine. Thanks for sharing your beauty routine. I recommend you taking an allergy test to ensure what kind of cosmetic or shampoo you should avoid. Allergy test cost about $600 but now I know I am allergic to 7 different chemical. Wearing makeup might be okay but cleansing is what irritates you more. Try the gentle cleanser as possible. This is based on my experience that I had a break out on my face so often.

Cerave cream - Slather it on the areas throughout the day & Childs Farm sensitive lotion as a general moisturiser Tip: Try a damp beauty blender for more coverage+moisture, because a brush will rub/exfoliate and irritate the skin to go all red etc
@jemma68437 жыл бұрын
So nice to see a video for eczema sufferers! Thank you! I also find using a beauty blender helps when I have a flare-up instead of a brush as that aggravates my skin, I also use creams from the doctors but use Cetraban to cleanse my skin and Vitamin E oil as a moisturiser. If I need extra hydration in some points I do use some Oilatum Cream :)

I've had severe eczema since I was 7. And I've tried everything from steroids, different lotions that are suppose to help with eczema but No avail. I just recently ( last year ) found out about first aid beauty. I recommend the first aid Ultra intense hydration repair lotion, it's a life saver. It's smoothing and it reduces the redness. Feels really light too. I use it on my face and body ( but if your eyes are flared it might burn your eyes since it's already sensitive. ) but I use this lotion religiously everyday ( along with triamcinolone on areas I know I easily flare ). It doesn't feel like it's laying over your skin which is awesome. Ive tried a lot of creams that doctors recommend and I always get that feeling besides with this and cerave. This lotion is slightly more creamy than cerave though but not as heavy as cetaphile. Link below if you wanna know where I purchase the lotion; m.sephora.com/product/P248407?skuId=1784826

I use harvest bay Organic extra virgin coconut oil. You can buy it online I am sure, but I buy mine from Whole Foods. I believe I have seen it at Kroger as well if you have one of those where you live! I use this all over my body for a deep moisturizer every day! I have eczema as well and a lot of lotions irritate/burn my skin. I find coconut oil is greasy if you use a lot, but it Is great to place all over your body once you jump out of the shower or on problem areas! I hope his helps some! Also I hope this isn't weird but I saw one of your videos and it seems like I am watching them all now lol! But in one video you mentioned you are allergic to nickel! Maybe check out foods that have nickel in them! I was reading a forum once and a guy wrote on there he was allergic to nickel and once he got rid of foods with nickel in them he felt better! just a thought! Thank you for posting videos! You are an inspiration! :)

Had eczema my entire life but recently been dealing with a flare up all over my eyes since December. It’s made my eyes all puffy and red and honestly had people ask me what’s happened to my face...it’s hard bc people do look and notice. It’s killed my self esteem for the most part and I really don’t know what to do. It had calmed down a bunch recently and I thought: whoo I can finally put make up on again! So put it on the other day and I’ve completely reacted horrendously to it. It’s as bad now as it was when I initially flared up again... So I’m thinking I’m going to have to rethink my routine and have just been looking around. Thank you for this! The face is such a bad part to have eczema, not just because you can’t hide it so easily but because of how little you can put on it bc of how sensitive the skin there is.

Thank you, I too have eczema all over my face and body, cried a lot because it hurts so much. People at work are kinda mean about my appearance, I know I look bad, but they should keep it to themselves. I have a wedding to attend and I don't want to go because I can't wear make up. Then I found you, thank you for the hope you inspire. I am 58 years old so I need a lot of moisture. I recently tried Curel hydra therapy lotion; it helps so much with the dry skin and itching. I will try some of the products mentioned, God Bless You and other eczema sufferers.

OH MY GOOOODDD!!!! I cannot express how much I get you! I've suffered from eczema for my whole entire life and my skin is never and I say NEVER full on healed. I've got scars everywhere and obviously as you could imagine being a 14 year old girl it's pretty hard with school and stuff. But, I find that the QV intensive moisturiser really helps with my dry skin and it literally feels hydrated all day. It's pretty greasy but if you just use a moderate amount you can put it under your makeup. It's safe to use on the face but make sure you get the one for EXTREMELY DRY SKIN, the one in a tub. If you get the other one I find it can sting a bit, but that's just me. The moisturiser doesn't exactly get rid of your redness or flare ups but it really does help with dryness in the long run. HOPE YOUR SKIN GETS BETTER SOON! YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL EVEN WITH YOUR ECZEMA AND YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS! DON'T LOSE HOPE!

YAYAY!!! Was soooo Happy about finding this video!! Love the Milani Concealer!! Thank you very much, because honestly, this video was such a confident boost for me! Just look at how pretty you are! I always feel ashamed when I get a flair on my face, like I need to hide it. When I was a kid they put me on daily zyrtec just for my eczema. Some things I found that also help for my face eczema are: 1) Mircellar Cleansing water for removing make up (Not many harsh chemicals, but too much can make your face feel greasy) 2) Noxzema Deep Cleansing Cream (IT WILL BURN, bit I find it helps in the long run) 3) Peel-off Charcoal Mask (It is painful, but helps in the long run; Removes a lot of gunk before it can build up and irritate my eczema) FOLLOW WITH MOISTURIZER!!!! 4) Garnier SkinActive Soothing Cream (A little goes a looong way! It is very moisturizing, and helps on dry humid days!! I Really hope this helps someone!! Best of Luck to everyone!

My dermatologist said to put a layer of cold Vaseline on first which I think helps. I have had a bad flare up all over my body for the past 7 months. I have been so miserable and sad about it. I have suffered with eczema for my whole 22 years! Went through this major flare after sixth form. Had to go and have eighty patch tests etc. I’ve used all the moisturisers out there and epaderm cream beats them all! I use it as a primer works every time lol

I really recommend Yaoh organic hemp seed oil moisturiser. Hemp/cannabis is a wonder drug and I've seen an improvement in my facial eczema overnight from one use!

Oh my goodness! Finally someone who has the same problems that I have ! Keep strong , the flare ups suck though. It got to a point where one person asked me if it was contagious. (I have eczema on my face and body)

i know this is kind of late, but the moisturizer i use is called complex 15 by bayer and it’s so hydrating and water based. it is so nice for sensitive dry skin and it actually even helps my eczema on my eyes!!

I have applied liquid propolis on my affected areas many times a day . And it seems to be better these days. Though it's little tricky to cleanse those areas but I wanted to let you know about this. I have considered this as a food but this seems to be cool for curing eczema.

Honestly, one of the only moisturizers that really helps my skin (my face and neck are covered in eczema - just like hers) is the Aveeno Baby Colloidal Oatmeal lotion. I can put it on my eyes and it helps with flaking and it doesn't irritate!

I’ve struggled with eczema for as long as I can remember and have new places that flare up as I have gotten older. Now I apparently have psoriasis in some places according to my new dermatologist (which I didn’t think was possible still don’t know if I trust it lol ). I love doing my makeup but i always get puffy red eyelids and dry snake-y skin. I was losing hope in ever finding make up tutorials for people with a similar skin type. I’m so happy I saw this today. I love how real you are about your skin issues and how you make it work for you. Will definitely be watching more. Also, do you have any recommendations for a different face primer and concealer? I’ve had problems with the ones from the video 😢

I use aveeno baby eczema therapy. The regular one burns and stings so much so I stick with the baby one. It helps a lot.

Have you tried Vanicream Lite Lotion for a facial moisturizer? It is a little lighter then the cream.
@LunaSeranova8 жыл бұрын
+Mark Kaske Yes I have that and I like it! I just prefer more of a gel-based for facial moisturizer ! 😊

We have similar ways of doing are makeup I used to love Revlon but they test on animals so Im still trying to find a good one. Right now I'm using L.A pro foundation (they also have a whitener that can lightned any foundation) I use a beauty blender or sponge to apply it and for concealer I use bye bye under eye by It Cosmetics then after I do blush, contour and highlight (i only set under my eyes i dont really like powder all over my face because when u have eczema it doesnt look to good) I go over the highlight area with a sponge that I drizzled with Josie Marian again oil. Oh an mario badescu control cream made my eczema on my face go away in 2 day! But, that stopped selling it for some reason 😭

Bubbles Asmr that’s exactly what I have !!!!! What have you done to stop it ? It’s so horrible

Scaley and flakey like me, I use vermonts original bag balm! It has no alcohol but it does burn sometimes. When its raw and red, I run an ice cube over my face first before applying anything.
