I have literally just finished watching the dephemerember videos and it was a joy to be able to progress straight on to the start of the journal process. I only found you and Luise in early January and I'm so new to JJ, but I've learnt SOOOO much already. This cover is beautiful. When you'd finished the background it looked like you were peering through a murky forest with light filtering through the leaves, vines and branches in the background. Beautiful!

Lovely! The cover is so gorgeous, it would have been lovely with nothing on it, So in North America, they call the paper you used Deli paper. Deli stands for delicatessen which is the place you get meats and cheeses and sometimes things like sandwiches etc.

I use 2-3 layers of hairspray and then a cote of clear gesso. It just give me more peace of mind.

Hi Barbara. Thanks for sharing the process of making the cover. It is very inspiring to see how the background changed several times by putting another layer on top, removing it partly and start again until you are happy with it. That is the best way to do it (unless you already have a final picture of the result in your mind) - experimenting and learning.
