What helps me with creating backstory or on-going narratives for my custom hood and sims is leaning into the absurdity and cheeky writing Maxis presented in the base game.

looking forward to this series! really cool getting a peek at your off-camera neighbourhood :D I like playing with both original sims and premades, both are fun for me, though with original characters I find having some kind of structure or challenge helps me get started! then once I get to know them as characters and become invested in their stories and personalities the challenge itself doesn't matter so much, haha

Your hood is so pretty and inspiring!! I hope you’ll show more of the builds at some point :) Anyways, you say in the video that the map is from the game, but it’s not and I’ve tried finding it everywhere but I haven’t. It’s like a mix between Veronaville, Strangetown, and Pleasantview. Do the feuding families have same amount of members. One thing I hate about Capps vs Monty’s is the unbalance of members and how the Capps are also above in money. The Capps have more money and family members. Are the feuding elders still around?

mm no, it's not inspired by any of the premade hoods, that's the whole point of creating a custom hood, to create original stories :D

Great video!! I wonder if it gets boring to play 12 single sim households at the beginning, since you play all of them rotationally. I would like to try this style of playing but probably I'd play them all the same, i.e. join a career, work on skills, occasionally socialize with neighbors, it would get stale pretty quickly.

what mod are you using for same-sex pregnancies that is compatible with ACR? I couldn't really find one that worked while being natural enough so that I'd prefer it over using testingCheats.

I just use the Sim Blender for that. Maybe it's not as interactive, but you can get any sim pregnant with anyone's baby.

i use same-sex pregnancy mod from TwoJeffs and it works fine for me with ACR. ☺️

Hey! Late/random comment, but PregForAllGenders by TwoJeffs lets same sex couples try for baby and get pregnant. It was originally posted to Simlogical I believe, but it's been re-uploaded a number of places.
