It's all well and good, cinematographers, to shoot landscapes, bookshops, gas stations, bedrooms, whatever... But when I'm looking for videos like this what I really really want to see is people. People doing a scene, even if they're just smiling at each other or something. Doesn't even need to be that well lit or produced, I want to see how far proper knowledge will take you when it comes to using any camera, especially something as accessible as an iPhone. Lovely tips btw! But I'm not going out to shoot a whole movie, or series, or even a music video with mostly landscapes, wide shots, or empty interiors. I want to see human behaviour and how that translates on camera when there is a real intent to employ all aspects of filmmaking, not just the cinematography. We all know we can get decent images out of these devices, now I want to see more real world use, and that means seeing more people. People, people, people. Shoot people! Show me expression in those eyes! Mid shots and close ups, traditional (and experimental, sure) shots of people talking and doing things as if it were taken out of a movie. Next video title: You have everything you need... Make a feature film with your iPhone. And show it! We got into this to be storytellers... let's get on with it then! Loved the shots with intent. Let's have more of it! No more travel videos! Show us what you're really made of ;)
