I had a chat with some creators on Threads about the native ISO for Apple LOG. The only clear consesus I got was to shoot lower ISOs to reduce noise. Nice to see you all did some tests to figure out some specific numbers. I'd also add for anyone that's interested in that FilmBox to also give Scatter a try (another plug-in from the same folks who made FilmBox). It allows you to artificially mimic literally any lens filter out there (ie. Black ProMist, GlimmerGlass, Black Satin,). I imagine that would also be cool to add to iPhone footage.

As a german guy, norway is not too far away from my home country. I really enjoy your videos for the tips and hints for improving small church social media content like mine. Just a quick question: Which microfone are you using for the excellent audio in your videos? Greetings 😀

It's a more complex codec to interpret than ProRes. Depending on your computer's capabilities, a single 1080p file on a timeline might playback fine. A 4K clip might not. Add some color grading. Some keying. Some effects. Stack multiple streams of footage. Now the playback maybe isn't so smooth. It's not about a single clip versus a single clip, but the cumulative effect when your original codec is harder to convert.

Thanks and again it’s a great video with some of best iPhone footage I’ve come across on internet.

Would you have a version of this video for an android such as a Samsung or Pixel? My whole church tech team uses android so I get tech help if I have an android phone myself.
@prochurchtools4 ай бұрын
The Blackmagic Camera App recently came to Android! So most of what we covered in that section is relevant to Samsung and Pixel devices. The composition section is universal of course. The color grading section will work for you as well. Only thing would be knowing the specifications of the sensor on your phone and how to get the most out of it.

No, the Sony would be superior.

Different question - what microphone are you using on the camera to record this video? I noticed there was no lapel mic or anything like that on you. I'd love to know what you used to shoot this video, and specifically what mic you used to capture the audio, because it's wonderful. That's my biggest struggle outside of the studio environment - what mic to use to record outdoors, traveling, around the building, etc. Is the mic mounted on your camera? I assume you used a DSLR to shoot the footage? I'm currently using a Sony A7 IV in the studio to record things for church. We have a RODE VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone AND - is there a mic you can use with your iphone to capture great sound?
@prochurchtools4 ай бұрын
I’m so happy you asked this question. Because I’ve been frustrated with our audio quality lately in these videos and did a bunch of testing to prep for this trip. I am wearing a lapel. It’s under my shirt. Sanken COS-11D plugged into a DJI Mic 2 that’s wireless transmitting to the camera. The DJI Mic 2 also comes with an attachment for smartphones so you could use this same setup with a phone.
@mayfairchurch4 ай бұрын
I’ve wondered about the DJI mics. Do you find them better than the similar Rode mics?
@prochurchtools4 ай бұрын
The mics themselves are fine. The form factor is great. And the wireless transmission and being able to flawlessly connect it to the camera is what I love.

@@prochurchtools That is true. And that is because the existence of any deity, including the one called God, does not even rise to the level of a hypothesis, let alone a full on Theory (the capital "T" is intentional). Supernatural beliefs are not falsifiable, and are therefore unscientific.
