This is the best beauty trick by far! I have super thick unruly hair and curling with a curling iron takes 45min-1hr! Using my straightener it only takes about 30 minutes, the curls are beautiful, and they last all day! Thank you so much for posting this tutorial. For those of you that say it doesn't work I have to say maybe you aren't doing it right. It can be tricky and took me awhile to catch on but once I did I hated using a curling iron! Keep trying!

I have got to say a big THANK YOU! I've tried doing curls with a flat iron before but it has never worked. I now know why! I was going too fast and not flicking the tail end of the hair over the flat iron like you do in this video. I just tried again and it worked a treat! Thanks again. No looking back now!

This is, like, the fifteenth video to curl my hair that I am watching, wondering why it doesn't work, why my hair keeps getting flatter and flatter everytime I try!!! ... Until half an hour ago, when I finally (after three days of trying) see that my straightener is on the lowest range... It's the same idea as when you curl ribbon for on top of a present. The way you slide the sharp edge over the ribbon is the same as how you slide the flat iron over the hair,

My hair can kind of curl... but then it comes undone... only way to keep them curly is with hairspray but even then they last for maybe 2 hours and my hair ends up all frizzy... stupid hair >:(

Desteynie Richardson yep! I learned to make curls with straightener (more or less) and after a couple of hours I end up with straight hair (and my hair is naturally curly which makes it even weirder).

Today I tried to curl my hair with my straightener and it was a disaster (I hadn't watch this video) lol....but now that I see this video I'll be trying your technique tomorrow to see if I can do it since I'll be dying my hair with ombre highlights tomorrow and I want it to curl my hair so the color looks nice and different because I have really straight hair so wish me luck.....thanks! Don't press down so hard, and put the heat down :) Also, try putting heat protectant and brush it out into your hair, if that doesn't work. Those are what work for me :D

she is applying too much pressure that's why you see a dent when you you twist the iron just need to go smoothly until the ends,also left side is facing forward they need to go backwards unless you want to achieve a retro look ..

It all depends on what hair you have and what works best, I work in a hair salon (as a junior) and the stylists always keep twirling the hair for about 4 seconds and it works on my hair too, but for some people this method works

I have natural thick long curly/wavy hair, I straitening it only because I get terrible tangles if I don't, when its strait I just spray a curling spray and tie it up in a loos bun or tie 2 braided pony tails. I wake up to more manageable curly yet smooth hair. I love this straightener to curls technique, I just don't have the patience to do it.

Is it true that if you dont wash your hair for a day it holds better curl? My hair is super straight and never holds a curl long. And you are amazing, I want to go to beauty school and even though I hardly ever wear makeup your videos give me awesome ideas for my friends. :)
