I just used your method to cut my waist length locs to shoulder length. It works, espcialliy using the yarn! Now I’m more confident to keep cutting/trimming them myself in future!

This just gave me the confidence I needed to cut my locs of 12 years. They’re getting into EVERYTHING and causing neck pain when I sleep. OVER IT! Thanks for the tutorial. 💜

Same I did it and I slept so much better… It got to the point I couldn’t even take bun on top…

I had mine cut for the first time back in September of 2022 after eight years. I can't even imagine 12 years of growth! My longest one was at my tailbone!! You sure feel much lighter after getting them cut, and you're absolutely right about the neck pain. They are very heavy, especially when they are wet!!

I just tried this method and the yarn was a major help! My hair feel so light now

@@JungleBarbie I trimmed my locs last night. I've gone from tailbone length to waist length. It feels so good and much lighter. I may trim them again after my next wash. I was a bit nervous, but I just went for it. Thank you again for sharing your experience!!

When I cut my locs straight across like that the ends get puffy (yes my locs are mature - more than 20 yrs). I was told to cut them at angle and that works for me.

You are welcome.I want to make the process as easy as possible for my viewers. Not everyone if savvy.
@anoelcollection72157 жыл бұрын
You gave yourself a layered cut but your layers are reversed. If you wanted a conventional layer cut you would have had to hold your hair up at a vertical angle and snipped the ends off. This way, each layer of dreads would fall a step higher as you go up the scalp from the nape to your crown. This is done section by section starting from your nape as a marker. By holding your hair down to cut it, your gave yourself a blunt cut with results in your nape dreads being shorter in length than your crown dreads. All this being said, you still gave yourself a bomb ass haircut!
@JungleBarbie7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tip Dear. I actually did not want the conventional layer cut because it would be hard to put my hair up and style without using too many pins

Agreed. I trimmed my hair in layers as a loose natural and then got Sisterlocks. I may never be able to get a 'proper' ponytail as the bottom layer doesn't reach. But I do love my locs in layers.

So, i just trimmed my dreads. Thanks for motivating me. Also, do you have to roll your ends to lock again or did you let the ends do it itself? I had some thick dreads, so when i trimmed themz the big ones that got cut look flat at the end
@JungleBarbie5 жыл бұрын
you are welcome. Yes I palm roll my locs all the way to the end. Mine looked that way at first but by washing and grooming they developed ends. Your hair will get back the ends
