Just A Professional Loctician here checking in and I wanna say great job love the locs and cut. I do the bob cut on locs alot in my salon it is a favorite personal cut for me for a long time. You have perfected your style Ms. DIY'ER 🥰. I do a similar technique like this for a quick perm rod set to get a bob look on longer locs for clients who want the bob look without the cut. Also another thing I use when I cut my own locs is colorful pipe cleaners so I love your plant wire ideal 😊. I just did this method to cut my locs and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It turned out so great. Was cutting from butt length to bra strap length and didn’t want another blunt cut. Thanks for sharing this method.

I viewed your video on how to layer cut locs several times. You made it look so easy. I finally got enough courage to try on my hair. The hardest part for me was doing the back. I couldn't see & had to trust my measuring stick (pipe cleaner). I really like the results. THANK YOOOU!

I wish you made a video of your hair before cutting, then showing your technique and then the finished result. I’m a little lost with this video. Did you switch the length of the green wire for the back?

So...say you cut the crown nine inches. How many inches would be the middle...and then the bottom layer?

For the layed look that I have, I'd use 9 inches all over. If the back and middle don't hit 9 inches yet, then those areas won't be cut yet. My hair is a perfect example of that. My hair in the crown and middle is exactly 9 inches, due to the cut. The nape of my hair is not quite 9 inches yet, so I didn't trim it. Once the nape reaches 9 inches, I'm going to give myself another trim all over, so I can have the perfect cut that I desire. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
