Digital Nomad life isn’t as glamorous as this guy makes it seem. You still have to put in work hours to fund your travels. What he doesn’t show you is him huddled over a laptop in a hotel or hostel for half the day.

I believe it definitely comes down to how bad you want it. I recently visited LA for the first time, and made it my mission to simply film. I ended up turning my trip into a documentary featuring local spots and artists and ultimately left with more connections. Even if it’s cold emailing business’ in your dream destination until you finally get a response, it’s still one step closer to living your truth 💫🎬

Had 3 job interviews today. Maybe I get one of them, to just pay my fixed costs, but even if they are jobs as Social Media Managers, I only pursue their dream and not mine. I need to be selfemployed in the long run. I want to build a life of adventure, joy, happiness & freedom. Even if being selfemployed means less money in the beginning, I don‘t care. I don‘t need to impress anyone, except for me. And you Chris are a big inspiration, I will learn now everything I need to get clients like tourismboards or other companies which are in the travel-space, to really pursue my own dream and not someone elses. Thank you!

Great points there Chris! Let go of that previous vine 5 years ago, semi-crashed 2 years later (no income, just happy-go-luckying, heh). Then I found your video on making stock video through blackbox in 2018 that really renewed the hope of continue the dream life. And it did! just got back from my 10th year in Africa where I do selfdrive all the time, and im sure you can imagine the ammounts of wildlife stock videos from there. Now working on upping video editing skills, building an audience as a second (maybe third or fourth) income stream. Being 40 when youre supposed to be on "top of your game" in a "respectable job" (heard that a few times) never applied to my core beliefs, really. Id rather have a little less money, and do the things I love. The world simply has too much on offer, and life is short. Cheers for the vid, and have a good one!

Yeah, lol like thats the thing. Everybody with a camera WANTS to be the person to travel the world and make money doing it. But like... HOW? If you have like hundreds of photographers in any given city all just doing travel photography and videos, who am I to also do that same thing. I know, I know "Just stand out from the crowd" Super easy to say, not so easy to do. Like my whole thing is like, okay other than HOPING you get a following on social media for your photos, my question has always been, how do you even go about getting clients? Who do you sell your travel photos to? Storyblocks isn't gonna take all of our videos either. And yeah, Chris you have your course video of "make money when traveling with zero followers", and that may be super valuable for sure. Just that, ahhh, I think I'm just so frustrated lately with my photography. I dont mean to take it out on anybody but its like I'm spinning my wheels in the sand and not getting anywhere, and I don't know what to do. My full time job is necessary for me to, you know, LIVE, and it doesn't give me the time I think I need to really do the research and learning necessary to figure out WHAT to do with my photography that I've been doing for the past like 7 years now. In all that time, I've only got paid ONCE for a photography job and that was one wedding. Everything else I've done for people that are broke and they were TFP projects in the few hours a month I have free time from work to do a project and edit it. I dont have the time to do work that would get me noticed, I feel. I love photography. I feel its my calling in life. But at the same time, I hate photography. Its much much harder than I ever imagined it would be. Not while maintaining a full time job.

Took us 5 years to finally get paid to travel full-time. Like Chris said, if you really want it and work your ass off you’ll manage it eventually. Just sitting there and dreaming about it won’t change a thing. Take risks and do it. That also means you have to invest money and time before you earn more money than you put into it. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
