Nicely done. In the early 1970s, long before there was a KZbin or a lovely Kris Kameron, I worked for Beseler Photo, manufacturer of enlargers and other darkroom equipment. It was the beginning of darkroom photographers converting over to color printing from B&W. At the time color was very difficult for amateur photographers and Beseler was losing out on enlarger sales as photographers were opting to send their film and prints out to commercial labs. Beseler worked with Tetanol, a German chemistry company, to develop (no pun intended) a photo chemistry that would be easy for amateur photographers to make color prints at home. They came up with a 2 step chemistry that you could use either in trays or large drums that would hold color paper. We also developed a traveling school that taught photographers the process. It was a fun time for me. Your videos on film developing bring back happy memories of that time for me. After leaving Beseler I went to work for Fujifilm and spent 30 years there selling film, cameras and digital products. So, thanks for keeping film alive for our industry.

I like your humidifier tip 😊. After the inversion cycle I recommend tapping the bottom of the tank on the counter to jar any air bubbles loose. Also I would recommend a Photo-Flo bath as the last step to prevent water spots. I always use a very clean film squeegee dipped in the warm Photo-Flo solution. This helped to dry the film quickly and reduce the possibility of getting dust on the negative. If you wait until night and have an interior bathroom without a window and curtains drawn on all windows in the rooms adjacent to the bathroom you can load the film without a dark bag.

Steam and humidifiers definitely help with ambient dust in a room! Have you had any issues with water marks on your negatives after drying?

I usually don’t have issues with water spots. I think the humidifier helps with that.

Great video! It's like Christmas every time I open up the tank and see images on the reels :)

cut the corners at an angle , to help the roll go on the holder more easily and so it doesn't get caught ,...

The other fun part is developing the prints on photo paper in the dark room.
