Marla Kris hey there. I am a nail tech of 32 years. My specialty was pink and whites. I JUST heard of the dip powder nails and was floored!!!!! I have tried to do a set of p & w on myself and it was a total disaster!!!!!! I wanted, very much, to get back to doing nails, I’ve been out of it for a couple of years do to moving, fixing the wrists and elbows from doing this for SO long day in and day out. So I ordered EVERYTHING I need to get back to it, and when I say everything, I mean all I need for acrylic. I did give in and order some SNS because that’s what almost everyone asked me to give them. Besides doing my nails, I did one set. I’m SO DISCOURAGED, but u made this look SO easy, not to mention, BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I was just curious about the speed and pressure u r using when it’s time to drill them?????
@MarlaKris4 жыл бұрын
Amy Todack hey girl! Thanks so much for watching! And yay for getting back into nails!! Dip is WAY different than anything else as far as application goes so there’s of course going to be a learning curve. I hate hearing that you were discouraged but I can understand why. Absolutely give it another go and report back!! As far as the efile, I’m at around 11krpm and pressure is light-medium. The diamond bits are super gently and with the right application you don’t need much filing. If you require some heavy filing, I’d suggest a hand file to contour and the efile to refine. Please feel free to email me if you have questions! I’d be happy to help!

Marla Kris I did try again last night. Cussed up a storm, and put it away. The first time I tried, not enough base, last night, too much base. WTF???🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Oh LAWD I have NO patience for this. I have to figure something out cause I have a lot of $$$ in product, and beautiful colors besides pink and white. I guess I’m used to doin them the hard way and my brain is just thinking it’s too easy, and therefore, I can not do it. I can’t even make a cake from a box, from scratch only. I’ll figure it out hopefully. Thank u!!

This was a great tutorial - with every step explained! I love French tips and this looks faster than hand-painting .. maybe it's not as crisp as a hand-painted smile line, but I can deal with that, especially on my non-dominant hand. Also, I had no idea that you could put gel top coat over powder dip .. and I'm going to try it! I'm just waiting for my powder-dipping kit (including a French dipping tray) to arrive .. and can't wait as it's almost mani time! Thank you so much for sharing.

Ok so I’m late to this video but I’ve been desperately searching KZbin for dip tutorials since my Revel dip order is due today or tomorrow. This has been the BEST tutorial so far. Thank you! It also makes me so sad. Lol Your natural nail is so nice and before this whole stay at home- my nails we’re getting so strong by using the SNS dip powder at my nail spot. I use antibacterial gel and wash my hands all day when I work but my nails have always just been prone to tearing- and I’m starting to think it’s my actual finger shape because it’s mainly my forefinger but who knows I’m far from expert. So right now I’m dealing with awful nails, too short for even dip. I had to order tips as well. Which I’ve never done on my own either. 😱. I wear them extremely short like even shorter than yours after filing. My nail tech is amazing. Any tips on cuticle care. My cuticles literally look like I placed them under a tractor then in a gravel pit. I’m not kidding. The cuticle clipper scares me a little- I have one- but we had incident once when I used it doing pedicure. Lol. Sorry! Extra long and probably TMI but I am desperate for suggestions and tips and help. Thank you again for taking the time to film this. So helpful. Will definitely have it on while I try to do this once this stuff comes in today or tomorrow. @marlakris

Caterina Brooks hey darlin!! Your poor nails!! Here are some tricks that I’ve found extremely helpful for my nail and cuticle health (keep in mind we’re all different with different body chemistry so this is ONLY what I’ve found helpful) 1- cuticle oil. I don’t ever cut my cuticle (that’s scary) but I will oil then 3-4 times a day and that helps keep them soft and I feel like it prevents damage. Also, I recently did a little experiment and massaging cuticle oil 3-4 times a day does seem to stimulate nail growth! 2- no more filing. My nails were getting so thin bc I’d file the sins off and buff them every time I did my nails. Since I’ve stopped completely (never file of buff my naked nails) they’ve been much healthier and stronger. I hope that’s helpful - feel free to email me if you need more answers! Marlakrishelp@gmail.com 💜

@@MarlaKris Thank you so much! I just picked up some cuticle oil the other day. And you probably will see an email from me. So appreciate it. The Revel kit did come today BUT it did not come with the clear dip powder :(. And i remember what you had mentioned in your video, made sense and I know my nail tech uses it. So I am going to try to find some on Amazon since there are still no beauty stores open to purchase. Thanks again for responding. :)

I don't want to spend money on something that is really really bad. Thank you so much in advance. Prior to edit comment...LOL!!!!: I have only watched just a few videos on dip nails and so far, this is my FAVORITE! I am an OCD/ItBetterBePerfect person while also being one who doesn't love the whole "dagger" type nails. I just want nails that look naturally long (yeah, sadly I will have to use tips to compensate for my anxiety biting), but I'll be cutting down tips so they don't look redonKulous fake long. Like just barely over the end of my fingertips like what you have naturally is exactly what I want. I also very much appreciate your advice on putting the nail STRAIGHT in, and not at a 45 degree like the others I've seen thus far. 45 degrees makes them look so fake. I hope you'll do more videos because I LOVED this one! Natural-"ish", is better than blatant fakey. LOL! New subscriber. ;)
