Love this. I started doing this years ago as soon as places started offering apps and email sign ups! This is so real! I always get a free drink or free something and my friends are all sleeping cause they don’t wanna download it’s free! Yaaasss receipts are key! Do the survey! I’ve never had to be broke to do this. I just wanted to add here that if you're hungry (like have no food & no money hungry, not just wanting a free lunch hungry), Taco Bell's policy is that if anyone comes to the counter & tells them that they're hungry, & have no money to buy food, they will give you a free meal. I had a friend that was sitting in Taco Bell's drive through waiting for her order when she saw a couple of people digging in the dumpster looking for food. Most places would have ignored them or chased them off, but she was stunned when she saw a Taco Bell employee bring out a couple of big bags of food & give them to the couple. She said it made both her & her husband tear up to see how grateful the couple was. She was curious, so she asked the person working the drive through, & they told her the policy that I stated above. I wish more restaurants cared about people being hungry, but you can bet that Taco Bell now has my bussiness for life.

I think this video is awesome and it can help so many people. I lost my job last year and needless to say... it has been a humbling experience. My family and I went from 2 cars to 1, I have sold things in our house just to get by, I have learned to coupon and swallow my pride and obtain hand me downs from friends and family (which I never did before this). Every little bit helps. Before most of you judge, You do not know everyone's situation, and a video like this can help someone out in need. Be humble and be kind to one another.
@amylynnhunt555 жыл бұрын
Leslie, are you doing better now? I hope people know how tenuous life as we know it can be, not so we all worry, but so we can be mindful that this, losing a home, not knowing where the next meal is coming from, etc., is not "something that happens to Other People" One of my least favorite sayings. I have been Other People, in several different ways, and a friendly acquaintance (actually he's super cranky or I'd tell you to get his book) lived in his car for several years, before there were YT videos to show people how to do that. I hope you are ok, I know the government shutdown opened a LOT of people's eyes as to how quickly a family can find themselves in line at a shelter or community pantry. That is the "good" thing I'm choosing to take away from those days - hoping to take some of the stigma out of NEED! We all need help at times. No one in this country should go to bed hungry, and I'm so grateful that you shared your story. And i also don't think anyone judged you, which is a hopeful sign to me.
@leslief.28395 жыл бұрын
@@amylynnhunt55 Thank you for your response, that is so sweet of you. Yes, I am doing much better now, this year so far has been filled with blessings and I was able to find a job, so I am very grateful for that and for those who helped me and my family along the way. I agree with you, no one should go hungry or have to experience that, and the stigma that comes with it needs to be addressed. The govt. shutdown has affected so many families and it's so ridiculous how so many families have suffered from loss of income, at the hands of our own Government, so sad and I am praying for all of the families that are going through that.

People can spend their money on what they wish! If someone is making $10/hr and spend $5 on a cup of coffee, it's their business if they think working an entire hour for 2 cups of coffee is worth it! Often when I make a purchase, I quickly figure out how many hours I had to work in order to pay for it. Many times that makes me realize that I'd rather have that time off of work than buy the item. Many years ago when I was a teenager making minimum wage and trying to decide if I wanted a fast food meal, I'd think about working an entire hour to make the amount needed for a burger, fries and drink, and usually, I'd skip it and eat at home! Doing that helped me to buy my first brand new home when I was 22 yrs old!

OCC is doing a great service educating the public on how to navigate the consumer landscape in this country. Everything I know about coupons I learned from my mother (of 8 kids), the Extreme couponers show, websites like coupon Susie, Coupon Cabin, Brad’s Deals. The membership grocery stores that require you to pay for memberships allow you to shop there if you have a gift card so don't pay to shop there just buy a $5.00 gift card online and just go in and eat all the free samples all day long. But you can usually eat in the food court without a membership cheeper than most fast food restaurants. Also if you know someone with a membership they can add you so you don't have to pay any dues, and it doesn't effect there account at all.

I can't believe there's some people who think this is fake. Last year I survived off of this stuff and free Bloomin Onions from Outback. Is it bad for you? Yes, but when you're broke you use all of these things. I love the way she went about this, there isn't any shame in getting a discount or a free thing. But if you guys think these franchises are hurting to hand out a free $1 donut or coffee, you're living a sad life. You NEED these coupons and you don't even realize it. When I totaled up 2 weeks of junk food it equaled to HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS spent. Money that could have paid bills in advance or been saved but it went to $3 drinks from Taco Bell, $2 Dunkin Donuts, etc.; I encourage you skeptical people to tally up your pocket change - the results will terrify you. We ALL could learn a thing or two about taking every opportunity to save some cash. Whether you think it or not. And BTW, NONE OF WHAT SHE DID WAS FAKE OR A SCAM. GO TRY IT. Don't sit your ass down at Olive Garden before you get your coupon emailed to you, but you WILL get savings if you just put effort in and aren't dumb. Good lord.

Being a waitress I really appreciate where u said if u can’t tip don’t eat in. You don’t know how many people come in my place of employment and don’t tip. Now there are some that will say I’m so sorry we spent more then we thought I will leave u a bigger tip next time and most do come back and give a nice tip (usually if ur really nice about it. If ur mean about it they won’t ). But there have been many people that will pay with $100 bill and have several more $100 bills and their bill was over $40 and they don’t tip. It’s really heartbreaking bc we only make $2-$3 an hour so we literally depend on our tips to live. So thank u for that.
@kellyvu68706 жыл бұрын
I hate it when people criticize waiters and waitresses and say, “If you need tips to make money, get another job”. Businesses pay servers several bucks an hour BECAUSE patrons can tip them for their services. If you can’t tip your waiter/waitress for their service, be polite about it or eat at a place where you can help yourself Edit: Key thing is that when you eat at a place with servers, you pay for your food & you (optionally) pay for the service your server provides.
@justoneserbiangirl67066 жыл бұрын
well i think that tip shouldn't be mandatory, i dont usually tip no one ever because i don't want to spend more money, yes i am cheap. Problem is in your epmployer who should pay you at least a minimum wage . I cant believe that in usa they pay you like that little, its not fair. That way the owner is just saving money and customers are spending more because they have to tip, i call that bs.
@justqueeningit316 жыл бұрын
Kelly’s Korner I agree with you; if someone can’t or won’t tip then simply take the food to go. I tip even if the service sucks*not as much as I’d pay for good service though* The pay for waiters and waitresses should be more than it is now and their tips is just extra pocket money. Some people might love waitressing but honestly, why work at a job that only pays $2-3/ hour though? If someone loves customer service, there’s plenty of jobs that pays better than waitressing but 🐸 🍵
@BMS4536 жыл бұрын
Kelly Vu thank you for that. I love my job and I would never leave it. I get told all the time to get another job. Why should I go be miserable somewhere I don’t like just bc people feel they don’t need to tip. Oh but they will tip the cooks who make $10-12 an hour. Sometimes I cook and serve. I do it all. Don’t get me wrong I have wonderful customers who do tip some tip well. Where I work we bus our own tables, clean up the mess and do our own dishes. We don’t just take the orders and bring the food. Anyway to each his own.
@BMS4536 жыл бұрын
JustSexy SerbianGirl tipping isn’t mandatory if so it would be automatically added to the check. But we provide a service and a tip is just a way to appreciate that service. It stinks we get paid so little but I do love my job. So I just suck it up and am thankful for those kind souls who do appreciate me.

On tipping I agree those waiters and waitresses only make 2.00 $ an hour and most of that goes to taxes. They live off of their tips. I know from experience I worked in restaurants for 21 years. You cannot make a good living as a waitress if you don't get tipped $2 an hour is not going to pay your bills so when you go to restaurants don't be a jackass and leave at least a $5 tip

Phuket UFC because it shows shame to the company and managers who hire the staff. It means people disrespect them by thinking they don’t pay enough. And can’t afford it. It’s in all contracts not to tip. It’s very rude. Doesn’t matter how little you earn you never tip. It’s also nice because they never bug the customer! I went to the New York once and the waitress did not leave us alone! But on Chinese New Year you can give lots of money gifts.
