Just started my second job ever at 18 I’m about to have my third day tomorrow. My first job was so traumatic because my boss was extremely verbally abusive and had explosive anger. Also being the youngest and ONLY female worker at 17 I lasted three months everyday I’d finish a shift I’d already be worrying about the next one. So after three months I quit one day. Then over a span of 9 months in 2022 I worked 4 trial shifts at 3 different restaurants and a carnival. Every single 4 of those trial shifts had me traumatised. I left every single one crying and feeling stupid. I felt like I was going insane to be that unlucky to encounter such toxic work environments. I was either not being trained properly or being yelled at even if it was my first day. It was horrible especially since I was already overwhelmed being there in the first place. But now I work at a nursing home cleaning and mopping floors. I was having really bad anxiety before bed but now that I’ve watched this video I feel so much more clam. Even tho the job itself isn’t hard it’s just a lot to remember and especially since my boss isn’t even in the same town. I also have no schedule to go off and get lost often since the place is so big. But it’s been a lot better than all of my other experiences and I’m so happy to have a job again. Update the boss moved me to another nursing home to clean and I hate it I feel so unsupported and uncomfortable Update 2 Been moved again, the staff here are actually really friendly. Everyone is pleased with my work but I’m constantly having issues with one of the resident’s family. she is not happy with how I’m cleaning her mum’s room. I know I’m a good worker and I act like I’m being paid 100 a hr to clean this room everyday. But yet her daughter still continues to negatively speak of me. I understand you can’t please everyone in this world and criticism is good however her delivery is very harsh and degrading. Honestly makes me panic and dread while I’m at work. I don’t know what to do anymore, this makes me want to quit and start all over when I just got comfortable.

Thank you for this, I'm a teen and I've applied to volunteer at the hospital and now I have a place, and I'm super scared because I feel like there's so much responsibility and people are relying on me, and if I mess up then people will get mad at me. I think I have a fear of people being angry and disappointed in me, which is what's making me so stressed. I always have this feeling of stress before first days or in places where there is responsibility, but you worded it well in the fact that I should just accept it. I'll be working for the majority of my life so I should just get good at my craft and try to not panic so much haha

It will turn out ok aging and you will be kicking yourself because you were getting anxious for no reason. 😊 bont sweat the small stuff!!

Thanks I needed this.. just had a new client saying something like: "Oh yeah, we need critics on our videos and stuff. It's always good to hear what you think!" and the sec. right after I said what I think he's like: "We do this for many years now and I hate to tell people why we do this and that. I don't like to justify everything!" .. and I'm like .. Bro you asked for it.. and at the same time I constantly think I did something horrobly wrong.. so yeah.. it triggered my anxiety way to much... your reminded me of my favorite thought.. "We all gonna die someday." So who gives a f***?.. anyway .. you gained a sub here! Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bro! :)

"For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” _ Isaiah 41:13 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies. _Psalm 118:6 “Cast All Your anxiety on HIM because He cares for you” _Peter 5:7 The Phrase do not be Afraid is Written in The Bible 365 Times. That's a Daily Reminder from God to Live Every Day Being Fearless. You should ask God for everything,, EVERYTHING. nothing on this earth can't be solved or healed by God who created everything (earth, humans, medicine, atoms... etc)

This might be helpful to some so I'm sharing it here. Think of anxiety as a more unpredictable and longer lasting type of fear. Fear is future based and relief of forethought to be brought into being. You can easily prove this to yourself by trying to fear something that has happened in the past... something that really scared you and had you fearing in the moment it happened - try it. Well, chances are you can't put yourself in the same fearful state again. So just know that fear is future based. Picture it like this - when something of high importance is about to happen to you, and the outcome of it is uncertain, your awareness projects itself into a future where the worst likely scenario has happened. The mind takes that feeling of the worst outcome, and then goes back to the present and manifests that feeling in you. That's the process of fear. Knowing this will already put you miles ahead of anyone else :) Now, to easiest thing you can do to eliminate the fear is to not let your awareness go into the future to paint that FALSE picture. That is, do this only if you're certain that the thing you're fearing is just your minds made up BS, like stressing over a presentation or important confrontation. Tell yourself "I'm alright right now." - this keeps you in the now and brings you back to reality. Hope this helps yall :)

You summed up the personality of people having work anxiety very well ...i am just a copy of that.. overthinker responsible perfectionist and as you said anxiety is just a toping ... could you please elaborate more how did you turn your anxiety into positive driving factor because for me anxiety sucks ..there is no fun in staying awake late night and worry ...

I recently joined the Butchery team on my local supermarket. I have 0 experience and I’m constantly feeling anxious and depressed. I need the money at the end of the month. Everyday at work i’m standing up for 8 hours, with a small stop for launch at the middle of the day. I feel constant pressure, constant fear, anxiety…. I couldn’t find anything better to do a full time, and now i feel really down. Like a failure who wasn’t good enough to get a job that i studied and worked out. I have constant bad thoughts too, but luckily i have someone to fight for, and im trying my best to stay afloat…

Im a server at a crappy restaurant and the fact that I am not given the proper tools I need to even do my job causes great anxiety. Example: We dont have a till so if anyone pays for dinner in cash I have to bring my own change, our pos system devices have a problem where you cant see half of the printed receipt so I have to use a device really far away from my station to print stuff, my section is really big aka i have to serve the entire dining room and its too much for one person, our CO2 system is broken aka no beer on tap and no soda aside from 2 liters...Im also the bartender for the entire restaurant and I just want to cry.

I am in charge of a lot of people in a super crazy, fast-paced environment. I am great at doing all of my tasks and the high-level responsibilities I have, but the hard part is PEOPLE. Managing people is where I get so anxious. Employees are frequently upset about something (both inside and outside of work), they often don’t get along with each other, they complain to me about each other. Even best friends at work will come to me to complain about their workplace “best friend”. People want me to really go after their coworkers for trivial reasons. I swear I just want to retire. I can barely stand to set foot into work sometimes.

im anxious to the point where it makes my entire body lock up. I am working on my thesis, which is supposed to be the most important thing i ever will produce. All last semester, i could not focus. I'm in therapy now. I'm trying to take the steps to better myself. I have barely accomplished anything for 6 weeks. I have 7 weeks to catch up. I'm terrified. I feel useless. Every time i sit down to work and i have the project right there in my face my mind goes blank, I shake, I can't think. I'm going to end up ruining my life. I'm at the finish line, only 3 classes left to finish and I will graduate. I am mortified. I went to a job fair. It went well. I'm terrified to follow up and email any of these firms because i cant focus on school. I feel like im going to fail i dont want to display that failure to potential employers.

I have acknowledged that I have severe anxiety and depression from past work, so I left and give myself months to recover and gain back my confidence for works and so I went to interview and lucky enough I got a new job and just started lately. But then I found out I have anxiety to work everyday and keep counting down till day off. And now I realised that this "ergophobia". How to overcome this completely? Because it is bothering me badly

I have really bad anxiety and I am a stripper so I know my shift will end eventually but if I don’t talk to people then I won’t make them money. I am working very very hard to get out of dancing and become a nurse. I have no problem talking to patients during clinicals but when it comes to stripping my brain just explodes. I can’t be the only one because tick-tock has such a disturbed reality that stripping it is so easy. I wonder if people would enjoy that I make anxious stripper content? Also I don’t want to get kicked out of nursing school if they found out I was a stripper. Anybody have any thoughts?
