I think you have a pretty good idea of what people will like based on your speech at the end. All of it sounds great to me. I'm excited that you are in college. I'm glad to see that it comes first!!! ☺️

Thank you! And yes, academics first, hobbies second. Not always the most fun but worth it in the long run.

I hope so too! I'm sure he gets a lot of mail though so it may be a long time.

He never did? What a shame. I'm a big LPL fan to and I really thought LPL might dig this guy. Log seems like a smart young man that keeps his content informative, genuine and humble. Traits I rarely see in KZbinrs, young men or young KZbinrs. You know what, I've only messaged LPL one time but he did message me back. I wonder if I could get his attention. I'm going to give it the old college try! (pun?)

Very helpful video thank you. Used the conical grinding tool to "un-etch" personal info from a stainless steel medic alert dog tag before recycling it.

Great Video! Thanks for all the knowledge. I want to carve wording into gemstone\amethyst crystal point would I need the engraving + what accessories would I need for crystal? Thanks!
@LogsCarvingClub Жыл бұрын
Hi - do your safety research because crystal is almost entirely silica so you really don't want to breathe in any dust. Good mask is needed. I'd get some diamond point bits, cheap ones work fine but are slow. I'm not sure how I'd go about polishing though
@LogsCarvingClub Жыл бұрын
Keeping the stone wet helps to limit dust, may damage the tool though. I'd look at other channels for advice since I don't really do stone carvings so I'm not so sure what I'm talking about

Huh, seems like a good technique. i've been looking into electro etching, but this seems like it might be easier.

Let me know! Not sure how electro etching works

A few rekevant points need to be made. If surface is brass and actual depth is needed,: . use micromotor handpiece with inverted cone or round burrs (steel burrs). Depth of say 1/4 mm will be more visible than scratched surface. . actual charcter of letters will be given more prominence, --especially if font is in style shown in this video--, that is thin and thick parts of letters. . engraving is not scratching a surface but it is cutting into metal. . For steel surfaces or heavily plated metals -use carbide burrs to engrave.-- . use 😮of diamond crusted burrs will not last on metal surface, they are more suited for glass and crystal engraving (for ppl with more refined lettering skills). . crystal and glass engraving can be enhanced as well as shading/tonal work by using various carburandum discs attached to mandrels. . micromitors are more suited for professional use, as they cost usd 450-1200.
