The story of my Volvo Amazon M41 D-type and it's failure.

The unidirectional clutch is probably better described as a one-way bearing, and it only comes into play when the overdrive is activated. When the overdrive is deactivated, all of the spinny bits inside are locked together by the overdrive cone clutch and it just adds some spinning mass to the transmission output. Engaged overdrive driven in reverse will toast that one-way bearing, exploding it with enough torque (like in reverse gear). At low speeds the overdrive doesn't engage very solidly and you'll toast the cone clutch, so it's usually locked out in the first few gears. tldr: put an indicator light on the overdrive solenoid. As long as the solenoid is adjusted properly, the light will warn you if the reverse/low lockout switch isn't working.

If the solenoid engaged the OD while in reverse, the uni-directional clutch is destroyed. Safety lockout switch for reverse gear not working?

I have a problem with my Volvo 240 and i hope you can help... my Volvo died... ni petrol.. i have change the fuel pump in my tank and change the fuel rele... still no fuel preasure... there is nu buzz sound from the pump when i turn the key...no preasure.. please help! Why dont you do gearbox swap with welded housing? I have BMW ZF in my volvo. Holds easily 800Nm or torgue. Never had a single problem with running 100hp thru it because it can move a tank.

CzMnHD oh wow i don’t think even the chassis of this car can handle that much power without some added bracing. It’s just a simple cruiser for me, not a hot rod. I’m ok with the zippy 100hp feel

In 740 it is trotected to do so, it will only activate when 4 gead is on There is line from gearbox to unik read box nice volvo
