Good job ,a question how do you feed the minerals ,like do you mix it in the feeds or do you dilute it in water? Or mix it with dairy meal?
@FredDairyFarm
@FredDairyFarm Жыл бұрын
Thank you.I feed the minerals in three ways. 1.mixing 200gms with concentrates. 2.Feeding adlib.i have a plastic container that i pour the minerals and they feed at their own. 3.I hang a mineral block and they lick on their own.

Magadi and Twigalick are both minerals. Economically is it sensible to use both when Twigalick can suffice all minerals?
@FredDairyFarm
@FredDairyFarm Жыл бұрын
Magadi Livestock Salt is naturally harvested and dried.It contains no other chemicals Complete with sodium chloride and elements of sodium bicarbonate, Magadi Livestock Salt improves the palatability of livestock feed. The presence of sodium bicarbonate renders the salt alkaline, which effectively counteracts the acidity of silage and other cereal brand concentrates.

@FredDairyFarm
@FredDairyFarm 4 ай бұрын
The cost of production by then was 21/= kenya shillings and i was selling 50/= kenya shillings per litre.But this changes with market prices and also climate due to fodder security e.t.c

I think you're the one with the problem of not understanding,let me teach you,,,,,,,When Mr fred said about maize silage it means animal acquires energy.When he said about minerals salts it's all about calcium.when he mentioned dairy meals it's all about protein,,,,& all that is what we call balanced diet that required in animal unless & otherwise you tell us about that science concept of yours.
@DaveMIreri
@DaveMIreri Жыл бұрын
Dairy farming needs more of practical doing than scientific discoveries. Let's say in ratio of 70 % farm practical and 30% scientific application. We see alot in our farms that is not covered in books
