How I feel about Spectre Divide (So Far)

Spectre Divide is a FPS Tactical Shooter made by Mountaintop Studios with the Lead Gameplay Advisor being the one and only Shroud. The main reason why the game (or at least what I believe) became hugely popular is because of Shroud or at least the game was hugely popular. The game is repetitive and quite boring according to mixed reviews on Steam and the bundles in the game are very expensive which leads people to think the game is just a cash grab. This video is about letting you guys know what I think of the game so far after consistently playing and streaming the game.

I would like to apologise for my lack of knowledge in the video and would like to update certain things. The weapon levels for skins are farmable with xp and using premium currency to upgrade them is optional. The amount of xp gained has now also increased which would lead to unlocking sponsors faster making it less grindy.

I think the fact that you have to buy weapons in pairs is great game design. I think it forces balance and creative playstyles

@ofischial8148 i dont exactly mind buying in pairs i just wish that there was an extra slot for a custom loadout even if it was just 1 extra slot

This game is just a shitty soulless Valorant. I bet its dead after a year.

I find the game very unique and interesting, and I don't think all of that is novelty. I will say that unlocking characters does feel very grindy, however they have already doubled the rate of xp across the game recently which is a step in the right direction. I would also like to add that I don't think your comment about the top tier weapon bundle is quite correct. I think the weapon uses the xp you gain to level up because you can see a progress bar on the right when you view the bundle and there is a 0/315,000 below one of the upgrades @ 5:15. I think purchasing the levels is optional.

Ah in that case you might be right there, I had not noticed that xp bar. I must apologise for the lack of knowledge I had. I was also informed of the xp increase very recently which should make leveling up less grindy

@@perfectyasai7868 yea honestly, even the skins look pretty garbage and look at their prices, i didnt even consider this when i made the video but the 80 usd is for buying the bundle and maxing out 1 skin from the bundle not even the full bundle ...

I was really looking forward to another comp tac shooter but this was kinda a disappointment, i still sort of enjoy the game for now but doesnt seem like the game will last

The game lacks any soul, i think its a fun game but it feels a little lifeless and i think its partly to do with the art style and sound design in the game. Like the game is sooooo quiet like to the point where there isnt even really noises happening in the maps that create atmosphere. I like the gameplay of the game but the artstyle is pretty bland to me

I think the art style looks too borderlands like which takes away a bit of the competitive feel to the game. I also thought i was the only one that was bothered by the sound, for some reason i cant rlly hear footsteps cause its kinda blended in with every else its kinda .... drowning in a sense ...

@@iHazNub6 it kinda feels like all the audio is kinda mixed to be the same volume. I think the game would benefit from clear audio ques because i too thought the footsteps in the game were kinda weird

@vasstv3478 like i said, i dont really hate the game, i still play it and enjoy it but its hard to continuously play the game when the qeueue times are getting longer and longer in my region and im playing with and against the same people almost every match. This isnt the game's fault but i wish the launch of the game went a bit better cause the game basically instantly died in m my region. They did make the xp gain change which was one of the main issues i had with the game so that i believe is a step in the right direction however im not sure if that is enough to get people to start playing again

You are absolutely right with this one, because of this it feels less competitive than other tac shooters however this might change as the game evolves ... If it doesnt die too fast which the playerbase is dying right now ... Pretty much dead in SEA already ...

I am able to make some primitive setups with ryker, but in the end there's no teamwork involved at all

@@Exsavitator Thats what i was also thinking, u can do some sort of setup with ryker and maybe morgan but there isnt really any thrilling executes like you see in cs or valorant. Players in spectre divide also dont really play off traps which kinda makes the setup useless unless you are there to play of them urself so yea i 100% agree with the no teamwork involved thing, even when im playing with friends it doesnt seem like teamwork is really even necessary in the game, everybody just lurks and then swaps to their spectre when needed.
