Thanks for this. It's hard to tell ( video distorts speed) but I personally I would be slower at some points and not go for some of the passes you took. Everyone has their own risk reward threshold. However still a useful video with some good points thanks. What I would say tho is for beginners watching this vid, you should start of a lot more conservative than this with bigger margins for error ( your errors and other peoples). Also people starting out ...realy watch out for the sleepy pedestrians walking through trafic and pick your speed so you can stop if they appear from behind that van or truck.
@TKRydezzАй бұрын
@@anonimouse8918 thank you. I’m with you 100%. Some of the gaps I make may be done quick or be tight and it’s mostly to illustrate that even on a larger bike like this, if you practice your manoeuvres and take the time to learn your bike, you’d be surprised at what you can safely do. And yes, these sleep walkers pop out at the most random times, so being aware of the pavement traffic and your speed is also a big one.

I am glad to see your right hand fingers hovering on the brake lever, gives you half a second more time to stop. At 31:50 at the end of the straight just before the M25 I had a blow out on rear tyre of my Thuderace at 120 about 30 years ago, all good, I slammed on front brake to move the weight onto the good tyre and easily made it to the hard shoulder. I had £10,000 in 2 cheques in my shirt pocket for my boss in Gravesend. Our delivery lorry was 2 miles behind me with a HIAB, we craned the bike on, dropped me at a tyre shop in Gravesend and my boss paid for a new rear tyre, win, win. Your riding is bang on brother

R1M coming soon? 😃 You got some skills and confidence, that other rider was hesitant his feet were all over the place leads me to believe he might be a recent pass. I've filtered a handful of times myself as i don't commute just a fair weather rider but i've seen some shocking filtering and a few offs from people going far too fast and taking risks all to save a few seconds as i've caught right back up with them at traffic lights.
@TKRydezzАй бұрын
@@shutinyanks R1M…. Might need a few sponsorship’s for that 😅 Thanks bro. Yh he was surely a newer rider. This is why the biggest advice I have for newer riders is the practice there slow manoeuvres on the bike they have (as some only practice on training providers bikes). Helps massively in these situations. And Yh, sometime I’m guilty of flying past, only to be caught at multiple lights only to see the person i passes minutes ago right next to me. Amazing video bro I must say, got a question though. On the motorways when it’s at a start stop rate, is it illegal to filter through the hard shoulder, or even sit on the white line for the hard shoulder and filter?
@TKRydezz18 күн бұрын
@@Rezzuy the hard shoulder is only used for emergencies and if instructed to do so by road signs/ notices or emergency services. I also wouldn’t ride any white/ painted line and it is the part of the road with the least traction, so easy for the tyres to slip and you increase the chances of falling. Also, there’s a lot of rubbish that gets pushed over into the hard shoulder so that’s where your likely to find loses gravel and things that’s people have thrown out the window etc. I’d just take time and go between the cars down the centre or on a 3 lane motorway/ dual carriage, between the middle and right lane (dependant on road conditions and reason for the traffic ie accident or lane closure etc) So illegal, can’t say for sure but you’d get pulled over if seen doing it
