@R A are you mad? He wouldn't get the car finance unless the bank considers him someone who can spend 20K a month on toys. That means he must have over 40K a month income as an absolute minimum. Or he must have a serious amount of cash sitting in investments at least the equivalent of his debt , one or the other... That makes him not an average earner.

Sobering to think that the total cost is c£180k a year and you could buy a 488 for that (nearly). Every year. You wouldn’t get the content etc which would harm the income. Key item perhaps is the balance between depreciating cars and appreciating cars like the pista. Would be interesting to know the net cost of running the SV as the purchase price and the sales price may not be too different.
@EnglishCad4 жыл бұрын
Always look at what you will get back when you sell the car. Never buy a new car always 3 years old, or more. That way you will not be losing more than 2k a year on the more mundane stuff as listed below. With PCP and balloons all you are doing is renting a car and having to put down a large lump to start with. 48 month deals are favoured by people in business because in business you don't want to tie up too much capital in what is basically a toy. Always try and buy the car out right. You might not get the super car of your dreams but you can still get a fantastic car. Serious fast cars can be bought from 15k up. Which you will own and have an asset you can sell if needed. Here are but some of the cars I have done exactly that with over the years. Starting with a 928gt, viper GTs, M5 , Bentley GT, 1969 428scj, Bentley supersports SL 63, V8 Sierra cosworth ( don't ask) M6 gran comp, RS6 740 bhp, SL55, plus loads of every day stuff, Porsche Cayenne turbo s, Range rovers etc. Never have I paid more than 1k a month to own a car outright at the end. I bet I have had as much fun in my cars as you will get in any 3k a month super car. Not knocking what this video is about. But save as much money as you can because you don't know what's round the corner. Time goes very, very quickly. You need to have a rainy day fund. Trust me it will rain at some point in your life. That 15k a month could mean the difference between having somewhere to live, or not.

Great video! Question - what impact does the specific car have on the GMFV on a PCP deal? Example - sensible miles on a Pista over a couple of years will still likely yield a car worth over list, so is the GMFV on that deal still the fairly typical 40-50% of the initial list value, and the extra just goes back into your pocket at the point you move the car on? Or is the GMFV much higher and therefore the monthly payments much lower? Do the finance companies take the crazy car market into account essentially
@jr4ff34 жыл бұрын

@Carls_World4 жыл бұрын
So basically, for the really nosey people. You're probably making roughly $100k to $120k per month to afford cars, house, garage etc. The great thing is you're a business owner and if your tax laws are like ours, you could run the cars through the business and write them off as a depreciation asset. Loved this video man!

Moral of the video: financing a car is a relatively new way to buy cars and make them more affordable, BUT you still have to put down hefty deposits (pure cash btw), keep up with hefty monthly's and be stable enough to be seen as a sensible person to lend to. Financing a car does not mean you're poor. It means you're using leverage to get into cars you simply don't have the cash for or you use your brain and don't want to lose £10K+, of your hard earned money, on the depreciation of a brand new car. CHAOS. Congrats, Tom on all the cars mate, thoroughly deserve it. Keep churning!
@Drzee19684 жыл бұрын
I think you will always lose the money on depreciation, otherwise who pays the depreciation? Financing a car is a way to drive a nice car that you might not be able to afford otherwise. It would be useful if TGE explained the losses as well.
@TACITPROJECT4 жыл бұрын
Hope you are not serious about the depreciation, OMG...
@collaks2614 жыл бұрын
@@Drzee1968 Depends on the car you buy. If you're sensible and don't keep the cars for long you might not lose much, if at all.

@360FAMOUZ3604 жыл бұрын
Interesting video and information. My approach to cars that works for my personal situation is too try and save up 60% of a car and then finance the remaining 40% over 3 years. Let the dealers, banks and the finance companies compete for the best deal for me for that 40%. I owned my first car outright by saving from 16. I then saved and sold my first car to put down 60% of the value of a MK7 Fiesta ST at 18 and then sold that and saved again when I was 21 so that I could put down £16k deposit on my £23k scirocco R👍🏻 this method works well for me

Loved the video, but one genuine question how do you keep applying for finance without it causing chaos with your credit score, normally the amount of applications and the amount of credit you owe would be ringing alarm bells with Experian, Equifax etc, or does your tailored finance plans keep a lot from the reference agencies. I've financed my cars for 10 years now, but I follow my rule 'if I can buy it twice, then I can finance it once' It's a different and much lower league than you, but it's kept me in new S/RS audi's. This year Ive decided against the option of getting a gen 2 R8! But I'm 30 next year so I might change my mind and treat myself. Maybe in 2 or 3 years I'll make my entry into the supercar game, So long as things stay strong for me! (supporting my house, wife, animals come first though!)
