You basically create a pocket with your thumb and the top of the dowel. That helps anchor the fabric tube on the dowel while you flip the rest of the tube. Thank you for sharing this. Very helpful.

This saved me so much time. I added a clip (like a roach clip, some part from an electrical tool my husband let me have) standing straight up at the top. It’s too pointy, so I turn the tube with a large Sharpie marker cap over the clip, remove the cap, attach an elastic and hold the end. Pull the tube up, and unclip the elastic and tie the elastic together. So much faster!

Thank you for your tutorial! My daughter has amazingly thick hair and keeps it long. With masks being the normal now for goodness knows how long, I can make matching scrunchies and spend some of my time recuperating from brain injury and thyroid surgery and other medical issues to make some scrunchies for her and the many friends my kids have since crocheting now causes so many visual and mental issues. You are fantastic and I am glad I stumbled on to your videos!! Keep doing the fun stuff you do to make money and enjoy life.

Hi Taylah, watched a few of your videos and felt inspired. I was wondering how you chose your fabrics and where from? I know your in Australia and I’m in a different country but I meant do you search online, have a favourite fabric store? Chose by design for seasons, do you buy in metres? By roll? Are there fabrics that don’t work? Thank you for any comments 😊
@TaylahRose
@TaylahRose 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I pretty much only shop at spotlight which is a big store here in Australia, I normally just buy anything I love personally (I have a very wide variety of patterns, styles and colours that appeal to me!) and I purchase about 1 metre unless I think it’ll sell very well ☺️ there’s definitely fabrics that are better sellers than others! But they all sell eventually

Lay the tube over the dowel with about 2 inches or 5 cm on one side and the rest on the other. Then separate the two layer and bring the top layer over to the side with the short end and pull both layers down. the tube will slip over the dowel as you pull down leaving the small end at near the top of the dowel. Pull the tube off from the top and it will be flipped the correct way out.

@wayne00k
@wayne00k 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I do some human factors design work and have built one of these for my daughter. She mentioned that her little arms were getting tired from the repetitive motion. I found that the dowel doesn't need to be so long - only about half of the length. The whole dowel is never actually used as you only need to expose the fabric tube first layed across the dowel top. If you shorten the dowel you won't need to reach so far up, your overall motion will be shorter, and your process will speed up with less effort and less potential for strain and fatigue. Give it a try, we think you'll agree :) Thank you for your videos!

another person added a hook at the bottom and a hole in the top and looped her elastic first then flipped her scrunchy and then your elastic is treaded at the same time! pull it out and secure the elastic! saves a double step and your poor fingers to thread the elastic.

Are you allowed to licensed material items? Could they sue small businesses for making profit from their copyrighted images or logos? I dont know all the rules and wouldnt want to get in trouble
@TaylahRose
@TaylahRose 8 ай бұрын
Within the crafting community this is a highly debated topic and no clear cut answer. Different lawyers will say and recommend different things because the wording. There have been cases of businesses that have gone up against big companies and actually won because the fabric is licensed. Best to do your own research and decide but remember there is a difference between copyright and trademark and where people get in trouble is using trademarked names rather than the actual licensed materials. You also need to make sure the materials are licensed and not counterfeit.

Just a CONSTRUCTIVE criticism as my mum used to call them. If you zoom the camera focus onto the top of the pole to about midway down the process will be a lot more tutorial friendly. The top part is off the screen for parts of the video so it not going to be clear to everyone on small phone screens
