Yes, people can see where I I am mended but it is ok. At the brink of turning 75, I wander in my wonderings about my purpose, my choices, and things like ,*where is home, really*? As a formerly very busy person, the idea of doing what brings you joy can be mind boggling. But I'm learning. Learning that maybe what you think, and feel in your heart and soul and do in every small way actually is your purpose. Your life and your 3 acres have in a sense, restored Eden. That is true magic, and isn't that the only plot there is? I hope this makes some sense, I just woke up and haven't had coffee. The cats are watching the birds on the balcony and haven't bothered with me yet either. Thank you for this video.

I’m not sure why or how I happened upon your KZbin page but I don’t think it was a coincidence. Listening to you is actually teaching me in my own personal journey of getting to know myself. It’s sad to say that I’ve lived on this earth for 66 years and am just now finding out who I am. It’s been a long tough journey but I’m slowly getting there. I have been stripping away the indoctrination and beliefs of other people. I’ve always had a connection to the energy of this earth and I’m learning to be guided by it instead of the people on it. Bill Mollison has been called the "father" of permaculture back in 1970 very much like yourself ❤ I started another new garden in my new home 4 years ago now. It was only grass! Now i have 25 ft trees growing in chalk land….(such a joy) This is because I’ve watched your cut and drop method videos. This year I was blessed with Mr and Mrs blackbird nesting right outside my kitchen window, they had 4 healthy babies and didn’t mind my 4 dogs. Also the wild life is flourishing here now. But it’s still sad to see only grass growing all around me in neighbouring properties, even this seems to be a problem for them! Some are replacing real grass with this fake lawn. I just can’t understand it. I live on lay lines here in between Stonehenge and woodhenge very much a peaceful place. A place where one can connect with our ancestors and raise the energy sitting with the stones 🙏 If anyone thinks you’ve lots reality with there reality why would you bother to explain yourself. Let them go…I always have one word I say when this happens….NEXT 😂. Much love to you as always.

I am just a few years older than you Colette and living on a similar 'plot' to yours for the past 30 years. Old crofthouse on a 2/3 acre 'originally' of grass with a very thin layer of topsoil on top of rock. We had so many plans which we thought we would complete within about 5 years and here we are today still evolving, planting and growing, sharing this little oasis with the wildlife who seem to thrive throughout the year. Having spent the first half of my life living and working in the city, I always felt the happiest visiting family in the Highlands and escaping to the hills at weekends. I feel I belong in this spot... when we viewed the property all those years ago, with our baby daughter, we sensed something 'special' and our lives have never been happier, with many challenges and hiccups along the way! I too tend to avoid planning too much on paper... once you make that commitment, there are always questions about when is it going to be started, finished.,etc. You are an inspiration... stay true to the 'magic' of our wonderful world, Colette

The capatilistic world of money, greed, lack of compassion, when selling weapons is more important than saving innocent men, women, children and the land that they lived and grew produce on is losing the plot. Throughout the world 🌎 there are so many people who dont reach the headlines but quietly, humbly are saving the planet by planting a wood and providing a life source through the guidance of Mother Earth and its inhabitants, creatures who we dont necessarily see, worms, etc who are continuing the life support of Mother earth 💚 So,no, Collette, you are right and I admire your determination, strength and commitment to the land. We moved to our home 22 years ago. Out back was a large asphalted parking space used by the teenagers of the previous owners. I told my husband that only if that ugly thing would be removed would I be willing to buy this house. He agreed, and after the excavation, he called it Esther's expensive meadow😂 Our lot is less than half an acre, but when I think about it, I did exactly the same with my small space as you, dear Colette, did with your 3 acres. The trees I planted are now sheltering song birds and many squirrels. With bricks, I laid a trail through my tiny paradise. Gravel is also what I used for my garden trail. Now, I am close to being 80 years old, and the bricks have shifted over the years. It looks as if my magic place has always been there. I can't even imagine doing this labor of love on 3 acres! That is an amazing accomplishment,xand I am so proud of you!❤ The book, Braiding Sweetgrass, goes so well with the story of your life. Blessings from Virginia❤❤

I lived on a small island on a 11.5 acres of enchanting forest in a small wooden home. Three years I have been the happiest but I gave in and agreed to sell it (it’s a long story) and now I am in a place where most people would love to be in a shiny city but I am totally depressed. I'm now in my 70's and have always from being a child felt just a little bit outside the world although managing to give the appearance of operating well within it. If this is loosing the plot then I am charging on behind you in my own small way. Someone once told me to sit in nature and look at a simple flower and try to see it as a child would for the first time; my how hard that is to do, to cast off all the knowledge and assumptions life indoctrinates us with. I still try to do this every day whenever I am outside in nature which for me is usually down on my allotment which is my happy place or out on my walks. Having discovered you by accident some years ago I find your videos and messages so uplifting and encouraging. thankyou
