Ahh sorry for the late reply!!! IB teaches you patience and the need for consistency! Just try picking up small productive habits each day one by one, and go from there :)) rmb it’s not a race!

This is so helpful and motivating but also sensible. I love how you talk about the importance of sleep. I have this strategy since primary school that if I can choose between studying less but getting enough sleep and eating a nice breakfast versus sleeping for three hours and starting my day with an energy drink I always try really hard to choose the first option and let me tell you it pays off and most times I do the same if not better than my classmates that pulled and all nighter plus I'm well rested and I can gain as much as possible from the other classes that I have that day. Sacrificing your mental and physical health will lead you nowhere and that's why I think we should all try to avoid it as often as possible.

Hopefully this helped motivate you in some way or another! One thing I forgot to add on was the importance of tactile resources -> your exams are in written form, thus there is great value in handwriting as MUCH as you can! :))

Thank you!! I’m sure you’ll do great :)) if you’re talking about when to start hiking up your study time/practice essays done, then yep, June/July is great! However!!! I strongly believe in the idea of continuous revision - so you shouldn’t just wanna suddenly!! start revising content from day 1, that’d be a shock to your system HAHA.. try to set a day or two every week, from now on, for when you revise for past content! Just light reading, look back at topics you found particularly hard, and tests you may not have done too well on, to hone on your weaknesses. Then that reduces so much stress compared to if you were to kinda cram all your study into the last few months :,))

this was such a great video!! 💖💖really useful! i'm doing hsc but these tips apply nonetheless. i was wondering how did you overcome any anxiety (if you had any) when asking teachers questions cause i am so scared even to ask them questions (cause i usually have a lot of them) it feels like i am bothering them. Yes!! I was quite possibly the most anxious and stressed student ever in high school - to validate, in maths, when the teacher mentioned stress, literally ALL heads would turn to me! For study anxiety, I recommend headspace, or any form of mindfulness, but the headspace app was really calming for me, and just 10 minutes a day could have me in a better mood! For teachers, I would always bother my teachers, and every time I would start off my emails, or before speaking, by saying ‘sorry’! I had a teacher who would always correct me and say that, ‘it’s my job to help’. Teachers are there to help you with all your queries, don’t feel shy, if you’re scared of asking in front of a the class, book a time at recess, before school, in a spare, to speak with them alone! Asking questions is the key to improving! For hsc pracs, perhaps try your year levels above? For vce, I think people would just hand down resources!! Good luck :))

Hello!! No no, I completely understand what you mean!! Before I started the IB, I used to struggle immensely (failed tests) in certain subjects like maths, and that genuinely scared me going into IB, and when I started IB eco, I also started with very mediocre scores because I limited myself to what I believed I could achieve - which were very low expectations. But through continual and persistent work, and just believing that time/effort = results, I gradually improved my study methods and reached my goals! So just remember there’s a learning process that takes time, and your believing and confidence in yourself!!!

I didn’t date throughout IB! But I did have friends and have students who did/are - it really is up to you to both ensure you don’t do too much of the other. For instance, you could study together, but only if you’re both able to ensure it’ll be productive! Or set/limit a certain day/time that you’re able to spend time together each week. Try to remain self-aware of how much time you’re allocating to study/life so you don’t end up developing bad habits of spending too much time with them as a way to forget your IB responsibilities! If you’re in the same year level, I think it’s definitely nice to be able to support each other :)
