I play bass and cannot sing and play, I sang all of my life, my inspiration was Fred Hammond, I was amazed at his ability to lead the song, play bass and direct the band at the same time. This story was the last thing expected to hear but It has still inspired my to keep trying in my older age. Thanks Fred.

I've always wanted to tell you how your scriptural lyrics soothed my heart during a bitter divorce and realization after 25 yeats of marriage that my ex had outside relationships. I was so broken but God used your music to get me work daily. I cried and sang with your CDs every morning. Wiped my eyes, put my smile on, and tried to bless my coworkers and clients. Mr.Fred Hammond I want to say thank you for sharing this. I have followed you back in the Commission day and follow you more than ever. You have a big heart and some of what you been saying really hit me right on target. I grew up a Joel smith fan and one day Edwin Hawkins came to our church in Hampton Virginia. I had always want to play for the Hawkins family and when Edwin came with Kevin Bond play keys I knew I did have a chance to play for them . But like you said it’s about timing. I auditioned and when I played Kevin stopped playing turn and look at me and said if I didn’t know Joel was in Oakland I swear he was playing. I got one of my prayers answered and many more after that. So thank you for what you do. I hope to see you on your next tour in Virginia. Be blessed.

Wow. That exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. But I'll be honest, I'm hurt. I feel some kind of way & every time I see him, i don't trust him and i look at him sideways because the brother lied to me & said I never reached out to him. David had a heart after God because he was repentant and longed to please him. Sometimes I hear people say this to gloss over their sins. We can’t be shady AND have a clean heart. For what is in the heart comes forth.... Matthew 15:19 evil thought, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts , false witness, blasphemies...... I’m learning that like Joseph, there sometimes is a period of time between the dream and the fruition of it. And sometimes the outcome does not look exactly like the dream but all things are to accomplish the plan of God so that he is lifted up. Our gifts , skills, intellect are all given and brought to pass by the Holy Spirit! We can’t even come to faith without him. How amazing is that!!
