I believe she wholeheartedly did the very best she could to be a great human being. I wish we had more people in the world like this. I never heard anything bad about her. After I had a stroke and sometimes I would be working on a machine to strengthen my arms and legs is when I listened to Overcomer all the time. I started out after my stroke in a wheelchair and had to go to physical therapy to be able to walk again. I recovered from my stroke and a few years later I had cancer and went through chemo. One of the songs I listened to a lot was Overcomer. I needed the encouragement to keep going and not give up hope that I was going to survive. My attitude was that by the grace of God that I was going to survive cancer. After my 1st round of chemo I had sepsis, so I was taken off all chemo and got 1 IV every 4 hours for 2 weeks. I survived my sepsis and then went back to getting chemo. I had 5 more rounds of chemo to go. I had 20 more sessions of chemo to go through. I’m still alive by the grace of God. I really should have died. But praise God I’m still alive.

@@tammybuscher5310 I agree with you. Many people feel ashamed about having to take medicine for depression and anxiety. I have seen and heard pastors shame people that are having mentally struggles and are in despair discourage them from seeking doctors. Many times you can pray, fast, have a group of people praying for you, fasting, read the Bible, etc. But you need medicine to treat the chemical imbalance in your brain in order to overcome the anxiety and depression. It is like is someone has diabetes, they have to check their blood sugars, Dr may increase or decrease the insulin based on their blood sugars. She was a wonderful woman of God.❤

This brought tears to my eyes for so many reasons. I've struggled with my weight my whole life. I know how people's words and actions towards those who are overweight can be more detrimental than anyone could ever know. You can have a million people say how beautiful and amazing you are, but it takes only a few people to convince you that you are not. Her story is so familiar to many of us and I hope that she knew her life and her message touched more people than she could ever know. May God bless her soul and I pray that she is free....

What if she ended her own life? If she did, then her soul is not free.

Christ in me is to live, to die is to gain. She was loved by many. I too suffered for my heaviness. It does only take one comment to curse you. Jesus is the only one who can heal.

@@Palmetto-J even if she did, no one can really say what her journey is after this life. The reason she blessed so many through her music is because she let God use her life in the way He saw fit, not her and not us. Even in her death - she will still touch so many lives. I don’t think the God we serve would punish her after all she’s suffered living here.

Shame on Simon Cowell. Mandisa showed such grace and class in handling the situation. You will be missed beautiful woman!

Mandisa was truly beautiful. Christ shone through her and in her music. Am sorry the World was so cruel to her; but, she endured to the end. Now, she is reaping her reward in Heaven!

I was blessed to see Mandisa the last time she was singing with Travis at a Beth Moore ladies conference. She absolutely had the most amazing voice I have ever heard. Then I watched her on Idol and I think Simon is a bully that needs Jesus. He upset me so bad how he treated this beautiful talented woman. The second time I had a VIP pass to a concert and Mandisa came out before the concert and answered questions. She was burdened, trying to be happy, I struggled with anxiety and depression and I could tell something was wrong. She was out of shape, had to sit on the stool to sing and sweat pouring down her face. A few years later she was on tour with Toby Mac and she told her testimony about her friends death and her depression. She preached that night!!! She didn’t sing she sang!!! She didn’t sit on a stool either that Sister was all over that stage praising our Lord and Savior!!! I don’t know what caused her death, but I know Mandisa is singing praises in Heaven and she is at peace forever and ever. Thank you Mandisa for sharing your beautiful talent with us and we will see you again!!!🙌🏻🙏🏻

I can't stand Simon Cowell. But yeah, I never even realized what a beautiful sister in Christ Mandisa was until now. I just always took her for granted!

Watching this has really inspired me because this week I went through some hard hurts from my own pastor that calls himself an apostle but treated me like crap but I know for a fact that God is own my side an I will never be defeated. 😊

Prayers for you. I was hurt badly by a pastor. In the end I learned to lean on God more than man.

She was the 1st Christian singer I fell in ❤ with. I too have struggled with my weight especially now in heart failure. It's frustrating to hear what others say about us and not know the story behind it. I am very sadden of Mandisa's passing. The words in her songs spoke to me.

Such a sad loss to hear about.😔 I loved her music. Depression in this country is a taboo, causing many to shun away from help, oftentimes leading to one's demise.😢
