I think the biggest hurdle for new skaters is the fear of falling. I think the biggest hurdle for veteran skaters is the fear of their bodies breaking down. If you could touch on how you overcame that fear of falling and some steps you've taken to keep your longevity, it could help a lot of people. I, myself, never could skate handrails. Ledges were fine but I took one bad spill from a rail and lost all confidence. Eventually I sustained some injuries that forced me into only committing to low impact tricks, as my body just couldn't take any hard slams to my hands (wrists mainly) and knees. If I were smarter about it like wearing pads at certain times (the beginning stages when learning HOW to fall is most important) and understanding how far I could push myself to progress organically instead of reaching too far beyond my current skill level, I'm sure I'd still be skating to this day.

Got me tearing up bro! From the moment I saw you in a Braille video I could just tell you were the hardworking dude who maybe had been through some hard times but you were always gonna show up and put in work, idk, but you had a certain aura around you that just said “I’m gonna be great no matter what”. I could see your competitiveness and fire, You had persistence written all over you! Maybe I’m bugging but I was immediately drawn to you bro, you have the “IT” factor and I was inspired by you before I even knew a thing about you. Watching this and seeing how it all came together was beautiful. Keep shining Rick🤘✨

I'm relatively new to skating but on my way to become a nicer person (I got a really negative mindset) I watched a lot of braille skating. From all Videos I liked the ones the most where you were part of in as well because it had the best good vibes and your skating is really awesome as well. Seeing you and the other guys doing the tricks that all look so easy but actually are hard is awesome and how you cheer each others up and celebrating the accomplishments. One day if I'm able to do some more on the board I'd really like to visit you guys for a game of skate. Well, you really make me want to skate good so, see you in some years lol.

Dude! You have quickly become my favorite skater. The determination and never quit is so inspiring. I was never a great skater (I could Ollie and flip the kickflip and heel flip but I’ve never landed it) anyways, I’ve never watched someone do something on a board, and think to myself. “I could do that”. You make everything look so natural. Even the sketchy landings are still bangers. So thanks for all you do in the industry and inspiring me to get back on a board after 15 or so years. You’re the man Rick.
