I feel parkour is kind of like cheating. I mean them landing it looks pretty much the same as a skater bailing...

Jan's frontflip and that HUGE whip bar have to be the craziest fkn things to happen at lyon this year. Stoked for both the scootering and the parkour guys. fcking awesome!!

Is it just me or does seeing slateboard progression make you feel motivated to skate more
@x9x9x9x9x93 күн бұрын
I remember the first time I saw Ali boulala attempt it. It was in a skate VHS tape I had. I don't remember if it was Sorry, really sorry, or Yeah Right. But it was wild to see. I miss the days of getting new skate tapes on VHS. Anyways doing it on a skateboard is far more impressive than on a scooter or bike. I mean it still impressive but it's just not the same. On a skateboard it's not being held to your feet by anything but air resistance. A scooter you have control. Same with a bike of course also a bike will absorb a fair bit of the impact.

I started at age 31 never skated before and am right around 1 1/2 years total, absolutely killing it btw. I have learned a sh!t load of tricks and truly wish I started at a young age..... I was recording everything but pretty much stopped so i could just enjoy skating more, the filming of everything is very annoying. Check my channel for my 1st year of progress, keep in mind im doing ALL of those tricks with ease now and doing most of them on or across the spine of a hip, up large banks to flat etc, off of manny pads, next im working on going up manny pads with all these tricks. Almost nailed down the tre flip, pressure flip, pressure tre, and pressure hard flip, so ridiculously close to landing them all lol

Loved this video Ricky. I've been doing parkour for well over 12 years, and i've seen some comments that I want to clarify... With a flip down the stairs of this size, it is almost impossible to land and stay on your feet without a roll... your momentum from the rotation, combined with the impact, would mean your legs would just shatter if you tried to stay up right. In parkour, a roll is used to disperse the impact and spread it across your body. So although in the videos these landings looked heavy and a lot of impact, this is significantly reduced as the roll helps disperse that impact. This whole "rolling doesn't count" is nonsense - it's a way we keep our bodies safe and help with longevity in training. Although all are impressive, I would argue that parkour is probably one of the most impressive ones there, solely because everything relies on yourself, the rotation, and lack of equipment... All of them are nuts though tbf
@walterkaiyuenpang35563 күн бұрын
BINGO !!!! All to do with the ROLL !!! Very similar to falling from skateboards, learning to roll / fall properly to prevent / minimise injury. 👍✊
