How I got into Digital Marketing... Without a Marketing degree!

Hello! So would you say that even with your degree in journalism you where able to maneuver your way into a digital marketing career. All in all its best to obtain a degree.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. My first digital marketing internship didn't actually require a degree. At the time, they were only requiring skills (language skills + passion for writing, etc). As I mentioned in the video, I worked my way up to becoming a full-time employee. When I got my first real job, they accepted my internship experience in Marketing (as I didn't have a degree in Marketing) to get started. If you have the chance to get a degree, definetly go for it! As I mention in the video, a degree gives you a great fundamental knowledge to kickstart your career. On the other hand, if you are not in the position to get a degree at this stage in your life, there are other ways you can get into Marketing.

​@@thalita_milan I'm sorry, it seems you may have misunderstood my point. I never intended to imply that you didn't work hard to get where you are. It's true that your marketing internship didn't require a degree, but what I was trying to convey is that your background in creative writing - which you gained through your formal education (as you wisely mentioned in the video and have thoughtfully reiterated) - may have given you an advantage in securing that position.

If I want to start a career in marketing automation - where should I start learning . And is it compulsory to learn digital marketing course .

To get started in Marketing Automation, you need to have a basis in Digital Marketing. Take a look at HubSpot´s free online courses on Marketing and try to start getting experience in the field (freelance work, job, etc)
