Hello everyone! 3.5 years later, I'm on my last semester at UC Berkeley so I thought I would give you an honest review of M.E.T. After going through the program, here is my review of the pros and cons of the program! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4i2ZYOcnLCBgLc

That is not true. You are special in your own way. You are successful in your own way. You are you in your own way. Don't let anyone else's meaning of success affect your self-esteem. Everyone has their own path and one is not better than the other. Take care and know that you are VALUABLE. Much love!

I disagree when she says if you ask about your gpa that it is a red flag. Most times a low gpa from a student that applies to elite schools almost always had an usual circumstance. Gpa is important but one part of the piece, good schools aren’t really for 4.0 gpa’s rather for intellectual vitality.

I graduated last year, but I heard about a Haas meets EECS degree on my way out (I guess there's also Haas meets __ & Haas meets __ too). I'm confused on what college MET is under. If I was in MET, I'd want to make damn sure that I could switch to another engineering major (ie. I'd want to make sure admission to MET is equivalent to admission to the College of Engineering). I feel you have a very stereotypical Haas personality, but I'd be worried that there isn't enough money in business.
@MeredithMao7 жыл бұрын
I'm actually under both the college of engineering and the school of business! I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to switch out of M.E.T. But I can switch to another engineering major, I just won't be in the M.E.T Program anymore. It's fine though for me, since I knew I always wanted to do EECS + Business so I don't see myself switching majors. Also, M.E.T is separately funded from alumni and companies!

Hey! I have a question. I was recently accepted as a Regents' and Chancellor's Scholar for mechanical engineering and I was planning on doubling in business. This pathway seems like a perfect fit for me but I don't know if I could try to switch in. I would appreciate any advice or direction. Thanks!

I'm a high school junior from California and a prospective MET EECS student and may have lost my chances at this point due to a little blimp junior. I ended up getting a C in AP physics (unfortunately a 79) due to some tensions with the teacher? I honestly had a pretty rough first semester of junior year due to some personal stress and earned that c and 3 b's but every other semester has been straight A's with the exception of a b in Spanish. I should get straight A's moving forward though. My courses are the most rigorous as well. My gpa is 3.78/4.5 and that probably puts me in the top 5-7% but I'll never know since my school doesn't rank. My test scores are very good, actually pretty much perfect. I also have pretty amazing ec's including lots of personal computer science projects, leadership and entrepreneurship, volunteering, internships, and a little research with a university professor. My teachers speak very highly of my ec's and will write great recs. Also my essays should be excellent. But can this blimp semester really kill me? Thanks! P.S. lol I took Apush and it was the worst decision of my life. I'm very lucky to have pulled off an 80 and will probably switch to regular. We're very much alike. I'm not that strong in humanities either and didn't get such a great critical reading score either. I think it would be equivalent to a 680 on the old one. And my electronics get taken all the time. I'm pretty much forced to study 24/7.

how did you even survive ap physics 😭. i’m in that class right now and it’s honestly very difficult for me to understand.
@MeredithMao7 жыл бұрын
my biggest advice is definitely to do practice! I remember studying for physics tests by doing (almost) every problem for the chapters corresponding to the test. I would do upwards of 50-60 problems to study which helped me achieve high scores on tests. practice practice practice!

Which SAT score is better? Composite: 1370, Math-740, English-630, Essay-17 or Composite: 1350, Math-680, English-670, Essay-20 I'm applying as a political science major.
@MeredithMao7 жыл бұрын
I would say that the composite score of 1350 is better because english is more heavily weighed in political science than math per se. However, you should know that the SAT isn't that important because it's just a number that reflects on how good/bad you are at taking standardized tests. Your extracurriculars are far more important!
