Just downloaded the trial. I really dig guys like Plini and Aaron Marshall. I grew up in the 80's and 90's so getting used to their style has been a learning experience. I was really into Eddie Van Halen, Vai, Satriani and Randy Rhoads. Breaking out of those mind sets has been a learning experience, definitely.

Buying my first 7 string in a couple months and want to get a new plugin to compliment it. I currently use the Soldano SLO - 100 plugin. Looking for a plugin with softer tones yet can also crack the sky when distortion/overdrive is applied. Seems link the Plini or Nolly plugins are the way to go.

Hi Charlie! Love your music and just found your “Syncatto” stuff which I’ve been really enjoying! I also really appreciate your guitar lessons by the way...I’ve only been playing for 2 years learning via KZbin and there aren’t many channels that teach the music I like [Plini, Chon, Sithu Aye, you:)], so the few lessons you gave were a godsend and I really hope you do more of them! I know I’m a bit late on this one but would you be so kind as to share your Archetype Plini presets? I’m also curious which NeuralDSP amp plugin is your favorite. Thanks again and I hope you’re safe and healthy through all the COVID mayhem!

I was looking for videos of how real artists use Plini, as opposed to reviews from people who could've been paid to promote it, and I found yours. Thank you for breaking it down so clearly :) Just one thing: maybe you might want to EQ the video next time, because I hear a very low but pronounced thud every time your hand touches the desk and it's a bit distracting :)

Cool sound. What's your hardware / interface setup? No latency during live playing with lots of effects set?
@ZAMtech19945 жыл бұрын
You mentioned that you like the ping pong delay effect, but I noticed that you have plugin switched to the "mono" setting. Isn't ping pong a stereo effect? When should you use mono and when you should you use stereo?
@CharlieRobbins5 жыл бұрын
Dan Hoang hey dude! So I’ve always been a fan of there’s no “rules” just guidelines approach. Some of the coolest stuff have come out when someone breaks the rules. In this setting, I always track my guitars mono. If I want a stereo effect I’ll double track and pan them. As for the ping pong, I was thinking the same thing when I was messing around with it, but It still went back and fourth between both speakers. I’m assuming if it was stereo they would possibly go even wider than it does for mono! I’m gonna have to check on that when I get back! :)

I do! But since it's recording a dry track that doesn't really mess with things too much for me. However on my Axe-Fx It is a bit tricky. I usually re amp.

Thanks for the explanation and the video overall. I tried the demo version as you recommended, but I had some errors (most likely on my part). When using this VST in my DAW, my CPU shot up to at least 60%. It would clip harshly when it would work. It also didn’t work when my audio track was set to “in” or “auto.” It worked better as a standalone but still clipped and had some noticeable latency issues. Any idea on what I did wrong? Maybe it was my sample/buffer size?
@CharlieRobbins5 жыл бұрын
Kevin Berstler I would mess with the settings a bit if you’re having trouble. Everything on my end worked right away so I didn’t mess with it too much. Also, running other programs might slow your computer down!

Awesome stuff Charlie, I [picked this up earlier today after a friend recommended it and this video has definitely given me some food for thought in terms of it applications! Did you mean to have it mono the whole time ? and if so may i ask you why you personally chose to do that ?
@CharlieRobbins3 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! I’m sure you’ll love it! As for the mono. You’ll always play in mono since you’ll be using a single guitar input I’m assuming. However, when I have 2 tracks panned left and right, I’ll switch to stereo. Hope that makes sense!

I find it odd that you have your overdrive before your compressor, as well as the reverb before the delay. Of course there is no truly right or wrong way to run them. As long as you get the sound you're looking for.
@CharlieRobbins5 жыл бұрын
Brett Marlar hey dude! So the pedals are set up a certain way on the plugin. Unless I’m just dumb and haven’t tried moving them haha
@brettmarlar41545 жыл бұрын
@@CharlieRobbins One would think that you could rearrange the order as they're not physical pedals. I'm sure right clicking them might give you a few options. Or even a menu to control that aspect, somehow. Otherwise I don't forsee that plugin being all that useful if it dictates your tone for you. Plus I'm not so sure that you're going to use that for your live rig.
