I remember that 1.12 overstacking glitch at the start of the video. It worked with shulkers, too. If you had items in the shulker when you did that, the items were also preserved.

@@mycelia_ow No. This is a duplication glitch that has been public for years and only works on 1.12. 2B2T is on 1.12.2, and Hausemaster is usually pretty quick about patching out public duplication methods.

I started paying attention when I noticed if your HP went below zero in a game I played as a kid you couldn't die provided you didn't heal. Good reason to never assume a max/min value always expect it to be exceeded. A few years back I got a massive crit on a monster and the bastard didn't die -120k health... I’ve lost years of data due to stack overflow, if you used to make these in alpha 15.0.17-2 and stored these items after mass use in a triple chest resting on a chunk boarder, it would destroy the class file of the chunk. Sadly was always going to happen in a language that only has one unsigned data type (Char), that nobody wrote any sort of checks and mitigations from the start is partially down to Notch not intending to stick with Java even, and it being a prototype, then nobody really thought to change that for years until the bug reports regarding -1 weapons and crap were coming in. I really hate signed data types, they can make so much go wrong.

I remember way back in beta 1.8, if you just put something in your crafting gui then pressed ESC it would drop two copies of it. One that was a 0 stack and the original item.. you could then use that to duplicate to infinity. I remember even after they patched it if you still had them in your inventory they would still be infinite stacks -1, etc it wasnt until 1.14 or so when they were finally removed lol

Everytime I tinkered around with items: I archieved negative items by a duplication glitch with droppers in 1.8(?). I used overstacked items in 1.16(?) where you could give yourself 64 totems of undying with /give. In 1.7.10 with NotEnoughItems I gave myself infinite items that basically were items with stack count 127. And when I updated I also experienced the effects you explained.

FitMC mentioned it in a video about "the oldest anarchy server" being backdoored, allowing those users to create these infinitely stacked items, that could produce (in-?)finite duplicates, notably as an alternative to other duping methods. inf is only possible via file editing, but it could have happened in 2b considering the numerous backdoor situations. there's also items with negative durability which appear to be unbreakable

This subject is fascinating to me. I still have a stack of pickaxes on my SUPER old MCPE world when there were nether reactor cores and limited world sizes and it reads as 99+. Pretty sure it's an unlimited stack. I have no idea how I got it other than MCPE crafting just being very buggy in it's first few versions.

in 0.8.0 in this version items can be duped and unstackables can be overstacked. To do this, you have to first open up your world to LAN and Enter on a second device (alternatively, if you do not have a second device, you can download apps like Parallel Space to run 2 instances of Minecraft at the same time. Running 2 instances on PC does not work!), then you have to drop the Unstackables to the second device/account, and relog on the Host Device/account (The device/account that runs the world) after 10 seconds, then put the items into a chest and they should be a high value like 99+ (These can also be Negative values, but the game also shows it as 99+)

There used to be a glitch in 1.12 (1.12.0, whent he crafting book was introduced, I think) that allowed you to dupe any item to a fairly random but above-64 amount very easily. That's how I knew about this stuff before lol. Also works with things like swords and armor. If you wanna try it, read this, but it's been a while so I might make some mistakes. You need to fill up your hotbar except for like 2 slots or so, and fill those with something easily craftable and farmable like wooden planks (the "fuel item", doesn't have to be actual fuel tho). Take any item you wish to dupe and store it elsewhere in your inventory. Also you might have to keep a stock of several stacks of your "fuel item". Go to a crafting table. Open your crafting book and pull up some recipes that use only your "fuel item". Now you want to use something like an autoclicker (or just click really fast, but a clicker works much much better) and spam click these recipes, but don't do one for too long, try switching around as much as possible. Practice this a bit in a way that makes the amount of your fuel item in your hotbar change very rapidly, but make sure no space full frees up. If you can get your fuel item slots to change rapidly without stopping or reaching zero (which happens if you move all items into the grid by clicking too much on a single recipe) you can move on. Note that only one of your fuel item slots needs to change, this is normal. Now, if you can get this to work, drop ONE of the item you want to dupe on the floor right below you (a shulker box with everything you want to dupe works best) and IMMEDIATELY start spamming like you learned, before the item plops back into your inventory. Once it plops back in, it will glitch "into" the rapidly changing fuel items in your hotbar, since it thinks it's free. This should replace your fuel item. Due to this and because the items are changing so fast, the amount of your to-be-duped item changes instead before the game notices that the item changed. You'll end up with over a stack (often above the stack limit, like in this video) of your item. Note, however, that a lot of your fuel items will be "burned" in the process (hence the name). If you want to repeat, move your duped items except for 1 into a chest or something, since it doesn't work reliably otherwise.

I think I saw this feature in a roleplay video of some kind. I am almost sure the video was made by Shark, but I (after years) cannot confidently say anything about what the video was. The protagonist opened a chest and the chest was full of negative amounts of diamonds, but for some reason it was never explained or brought up. If you think you might know what the video was (I am interested in finding it for some reason), here're the criteria: It was posted back when Unspeakable was still affiliated with Shark, I think he even played in the video. It was one of those videos where the viewer was supposed to comment for finding the shark emoji.

@@MagnusSkiptonLLC many of the things have been patched on paper and similar plugins, the stacked Totems and armor have both happened on 2b but if you ever look in a chest or shulker that has them in it they get reverted to single stack items, you need to remove them with a hopper one at a time not to break them.

Needless to say there's a 1.18 Fabric mod which allows greater size stacks. I have mine set to a reasonable 999. When the mod is removed all player inventory stacks max at 127 and chests/furnaces/etc. at 64.

most mini-game servers stack the unstackable, mostly potions. but i never knew it was possible in survival. another interesting thing was devs put an effort to color understacked items' counter to red (or maybe im wrong)

I remember over-stacking late into the night on an anarchy server (Mine Texas, the second oldest anarchy server in Minecraft) back during 1.12 before the server admin could patch it. The server economy crashed and to this day I still have thousands of stacked "unstackable" items. Good times.
