Thats insane. I was about to buy some AirPod pro Max's off the "Fakebook Marketplace" and the guy sent me photos of the serial number, and it's the EXACT SAME as the one you mentioned in this video. These fakes are getting way out of hand

Literally 90% of them on eBay are fakes. At least on eBay UK right now anyway! If they are listed brand new for a ridiculously good price, they're obviously going to be fake. Mine came this morning but fortunately, despite being used and having no box, they are 100% legit. Thankfully the girl who was selling them was kind enough to send me a video over before I checked out and paid to show all the little details a fake pair wouldn't have. I paid £280 which included next day postage.

I almost got scammed today, it came in the box sealed, everything physically looks pretty good ,I asked if I can open it and test it. The fake one feels significantly lighter. You can tell by the buttons is not clicky and made out of plastic, but it looks very real. The only thing you can tell it by actuall already used the original one., he was so showed me the AppleCare and stuff, but I ignore and walked.away, lessened learn for me but I didn’t pay the prize😂.

I don’t like to judge people but when I’ve bought things on Facebook, I judge people by their looks, race, etc. I know it’s wrong, but I haven’t been scammed yet 😂 when it’s a nerdy Asian person, I usually buy from them. They’re safe.

I'm expecting this exact thing to happen to me. I ordered a pair on ebay for a too good to be real price. I let the greed of the deal prevent me from seeing the red flags. Now I'm 100 percent expecting to receive a pair just like you did on Saturday

Don’t get me wrong I love a good steal but I would NOT buy anything like that from eBay of that high of quality but I think this video does a good job for letting people know 🙏🏻

Just got scammed.. Bought on FB marketplace and then went to apple store to get them checked out and they are fake, so I just bought the real ones and now idk what to do with the fake. I wouldn't re-sell it.

Bro if you're paying $500 to $600 headphones you're doing something wrong. 😬 I agree with what you said 350 is a really good price for most headphones. 500 to 600 is audiophile range. That should be for most headphones will sound amazing at that price. 350 can sound good too. But 500 to 600 for wireless headphones? Even for Apple that is pretty scummy. Most wireless headphones don't even sound that good. At most they should be 300 or so. That is a pretty good pricepoint. Which is why I like the Sony 1000 xm3s I think those are good(Dumb name I know) but I recommend them! If you want info on headphones I highly recommend watching Z reviews he regularly reviews them and gives out good advice. 👍

I assume the connection is also different? Like I have a pair of AirPods, when they’re connected, it shows the all the information such as model, serial numbers…

I listed a pair my girlfriend got from her brother on eBay. Sold them and the buyer claimed they were fake. Got sent back a pair that my girl swears up and down was not the pair she sent out 🤦🏼‍♂️. eBay won't help and it was just a big mess. Scams abound.

The serial you showed on the box came back to a legit pair of APM. The serial on the actual sent pair of APM must have been different?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s obvious you got a fake set I’m just surprised they seemed to get the serial from a legit pair? Usually fake Apple has made up or expired serials not current legit covered warranty serials.

So how do you convince them that they are fake? I got these too and I was baffled as to how the serial number showed up with Apple Care until October 2025 and the box didn’t have any of the reported issues that yours had for misprints. I did in fact verify they are plastic with no pin hole on inside for removing the headband. I’m so frustrated, because the serial number by the time they arrived to me changed to invalid, but the serial number was fine prior to purchase. I called Apple and they told me my headphones were supposed to be blue (mine are silver) and the seller damaged them out while they were in transit. This is crazy! You cannot tell they are plastic in the pictures and by the time they get the part where we notice the pin hole is missing they’ll start having that too. Ugh 😩, never again with this as a used product of new from second hand seller.

I always avoid ebay when it comes to tech. I go straight to Apple's official site for their stuff. Sucks that you got scammed. And living in Canada? Ugh, we basically pay double for these headphones. It's rough.

Nobody would have this problem if phone companies would've just kept the aux jack in them now they remove them to force you to buy 100$+ Bluetooth dogshit head phones i tried to use my galaxy s 10 until it was completely smashed apart all because i didn't want a new phone to get scammed out of my astro headphones i regularly used phones won't even give you a charger anymore because their that greedy owning a smart ohone in general is scam nowadays

It's crazy what's happening with the Airpods Max right now with all these fakes pairs, considering they are from almost 4 years ago. I think it comes because they became trendy due to influencers, singers, and fashion KZbinrs, lately. I wanted to get one just because of how they look with the outfits and stuff, not gonna lie 😅, but I didnt want to pay 579€, at least here in Lithuania. So I wanted to get something used and stuff, and bro, the tons of fake ones you see out there is crazy. I bought one from Vinted and they ended up being fake, but I was able to return them and get my money back. I'm now chill, and probably wont buy them for now, taking into consideration that the Airpods Max 2 may come at the end of this year with a cheaper price rumors say. Maybe then I will buy them.

oh man... I have a set of air pods pro 2 anmd I abs. love them, but they fall out of my ears. This is just a bad video tho. U bought on ebay for such a cheap price and expected it to be real, even tho ebay is known from false products. U didnt talk abt the actual important thing which is the sound, and even tho it sayes "made in china" u continued to think its real. Right then the headphone is super good quality we dont know cuz of you (this obv didn't help) yet after all its super hard to find a "copy" like this that looks exactly the same with the real ones. Abt that we cant do nothing cuz if u want the real one u should of bought from tha apple store. Thats why i always say english people are full of Mimimi and expect things for cheap to be like the og/expensive ones.
