My first job was at Dillards in the handbag dept in 1994 and thats when i discovered Coach bags. I carried them until they started making the fabric bags w the C's in them. I feel thats when the quality changed. They stopped using that GORGEOUS leather...😭😭😭...I had soooo many of those vintage bags...

Same! Except I was at Macy's also in the handbags dept! It was a coworker who got me into handbags especially Coach, she would oooh and ahhh over them and at first I didn't get it! One of the Coach vendors gave me a small purse and I fell in love with them. When I worked for Estee Lauder then Clinique they gifted us a small leather pouch and Lauder a handbag ( Christmas gifts)! I was thrilled! Still have the pouch all these years and still looks great!

Your site was sent to me by You Tube algorithms today. I have enjoyed your knowledge. I have realized that the many bags I gave to my granddaughter recently before she left for college, are all quite special. They included bags, all in perfect condition, from the 1970s and 1980s. Coach of course as well as Fendi, Ferragamo, YSL, Loewe, Bottega Veneta, and several more well loved brands. I am 81 years old and it is so good to know that these much loved pieces will be used once again. She is on her way here as I write, to pick up some more of my treasured pieces. Such a joy for me. Perhaps she’ll fit my St John, Georgia Armani, Sonia Rykiel, some American designers like Mollie Parnis, and even Brioni. She didn’t want any jewelry yet or scarves since we’ll wait until after college for those. This will be a fun day for us both. I look forward to hearing more from you

That is a beautiful bag I worked for Coach in the 1980 in NY. Their factory was at 34th & 10th Ave. I worked in this building. We used to get seconds for $10 & 15. I have a couple of bags. I will have to check value. Can you suggest a site?

I'm not a big fan of fringe on bags because it's easy to get tangled and messy. I also was an adult in the late 1960's and 1970's when fringe got trendy so it's a bit of been there, done that. I love the kook of the varsity stripes and that rip and repair flap detail though.

I'll help! Coach Outlet, Canada. Over half off pricing, plus had another 25% on boxing day recently. Free shipping. Approximately $175.00 for $580.00 products seem a common discount there. Got the large 'Lori' shoulder slouch bag, in army green wirh a pewter true snakeskin trim. Should be more durable than my old 80's green duffle; it's tan trim corners wore off, exposing the black plastic trim cores. Dang eh? Lasted a few decades, can't complain, lol! Coach charm matching my name. So I had to get it; neat, eh?

That's a very beautiful Coach bag! Congratulations 🎊 👏 In the 1980s and even the 1990s this bag you are showing was all the rage. Everyone wanted one of these beautiful minimalist quality chic bags. They also came in several sizes. But they were very expensive even back then. Untouchable and unattainable for the average housewife like myself. So I settled for a copy which I bought at Wilson's Leather Goods in the local mall.

My mother gave me Coach bags ~1969 & 1970. Unfortunately I don’t have any of the original packaging. I continued the tradition & bought my daughter her first Coach bags. I’m 70 & have no idea what will become of them after I’m gone. I know my daughter & 3 daughters in law will want them.

Great video, as all your vintage Coach videos are, and your new bag is cool. However, in general, I am not a fan of taking a perfectly good vintage Coach bag and altering it. I understand if the bag has a hole in it or is damaged and the alteration is needed to hide that, or creating a new version of the vintage style and doing a redesign, but taking an actual vintage piece and turning it into Frankenstein is blasphemy. Just my opinion as a purist when it comes to vintage Coach.

I worked at Macys, White Plains, NY in 1986 and came across Coach bags for the first time.. my then boyfriend bought me a bucket bag in a camel color, fantastic leather and I loved for a long time then gave it to my mom .. it is long gone and for quite awhile I did not like any of the styles ...and now I think the leather in most is not as good of quality ...
