Yeah, Starmie isn't guaranteed to get Rapid Spin - it can roll Choice Specs w/ Psy, Ice Beam/Tbolt, Scald/Hydro, or Life Orb with Psy, Scald, Recover, Ice Beam/Tbolt. Rapid Spin would've helped for sure. Good luck in future gen 8 games! Running into you again would be cool.

I really like this video format! I’d love to see more random battle gameplay, whether it be live or post commentary. I play random battles in college classes just to pass the time and am getting back into singles after abandoning it for VGC in gen 8. I wish there was a random National Dex option but alas, gen 8 randoms are still good fun

Really like this style of video Joey! I love the long-form content as well, but this is for sure a little more consumable to me and I understand why Ludwig, Smallant, and even Wolfey have moved to this format. Personally I think this type of video is best when you can balance the raw-unedited live stream with the more script and this video didn't quite capture your personality the way that lives do but I think finding that right tone and balance will come with time. Keep up the good work!

Joey, this is the kind of mixing up of content I am really liking the most right now. I feel like the interest in showdown lives is a at a low right now as Legends Arceus doesn't have competitive and that was supposed to be the meta shift we needed. SS has gotten old and BDSP seems more like a side, flavor metagame if you relate with what am trying to say. I saw that you have been doing playthroughs on your streams and plan to do Radical Red. I would personally love to see it as a series on YT as catching streams is difficult for me. At this point I just like to watch content from you and your friends. Showdown lives are not seeming that fun lately and I would love to see all the different kinds of things you do/games you play on streams here on YT. What are your thoughts, guy? Would you be willing to see more kinds of content or do you prefer showdown lives only.
@pokeaimMD2 жыл бұрын
plan is to for sure port over either in 1 or 2 big vids my radical red runs when I start them. i stream mons but also random fun/sometimes weird stuff so as long as I can do what i did with this video for that stuff, i don't mind.
@togakhan12742 жыл бұрын
@@pokeaimMD I mean if you would be willing to, why not try posting something new from the streams then that you see fit on YT. I would personally love to see new unique topics and I am sure many people would too. If it gets positive reception then great , if not, it was worth a try. It would broaden everyone's horizons and variety is good for everyone, in general.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but in the last battle when Zoroark switched in as White Kyurem you saw the pokeball icon that shows a pokemon as hidden switch into Zoroark. @ergofiction56272 жыл бұрын
Feedback for this new style? Bear in mind, this is all one person's opinion of course. I think the content is hard to get right. Topping the showdown ladder is impressive, but if you're going to say "How i did...." You either want it to help teach others, or make it more eventful/important. People attracted by that title are looking for the "how" and want to see something very difficult or a way to replicate it. I think non-showdown players typically wouldn't be attracted to this title (afterall what do they know of a showdown ladder?), whilst many showdown players and fans of yours, would expect you to reach No.1 or may have felt this didn't help them/impress them given they know what you're capable of. You've got the in-game commentary nailed. But post-game, even when you do things like tournament replays, imo you lose the best aspects of your style, which is the entertaining reactions, humour, daring plays/taunts, inside language, etc. There always seems to be a sense of discomfort, like you're trying to be more professional and structured but it's just not natural to your style. Idk how you ago about fixing this (practice/scripting/adding more jokes/pausing for general theory and analysis to help viewers with context/video editing for visual entertainment, etc?), but i just wanted to point out there's a different vibe you give off and it's nowhere near as interesting as your normal one. I was always drawn to the videos when you're with friends, because it draws out your charisma way more, and postgame videos meanwhile often lack that. Which is understandable because you're basically making a presentation in post, vs just chilling with friends in realtime. The videos from other people of this style are also typically high effort/time investments. Look at PokemonChallenges or similar Poketubers who do challenge playthroughs and use similar titles. They are often genuinely massive feats. Some of those videos are like 50+-100+ hours of playtime on top of editting all of that footage. There's a full journey there, and that's something this video may have been missing. If i could change this video, I'd probably make it a journey from the very beginning 1000 to No.1. Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be killing 2 birds with 1 stone, make a "To the Top" series like you normally do with, but after it is finished, edit it into a condensed, more educational experience, adding something like a short presentation when you get into detail on stuff (like graphs for usage, highlighted screenshots, etc). Examples of educational content include; Pointing out things like how team composition changed as you move up the ladder, how your predictions change based on your opponent's skill, General advice using an example of what you or an opponent did wrong, how usage stats impact team building, meta analysis, etc. That way you can reuse footage of your most charismatic moments from live gameplay, so new people get a taste of who you really are, whilst your postgame commentary can be the new content for those who've already watched it and who are hoping to learn the "How" part. Add in a running joke from your twitch stream regarding the run, like the ambipom to the top and making ambipom OU to keep the video fun and entertaining, and you'd have a video that ticks all the boxes for this style, imo. Best of luck man, would love to see you expand more and become a more dominant force in the poketuber arena. There's only so many regular showdown lives/standard battles a person can watch lol
