Incredible video man, you single-handedly managed to get me back into cubing, and blindfold!! I've been non professionally cubing for over 6 years, however I never managed to be "decent" in any event (23 sec avg in 3x3) until in September of 2021 I had a big and devastating accident, where I lost someone near and dear to my heart. Over the following months (up until now) I got back into minecraft redstone (another one of my long term Hobbys) which managed to get me back on track. However, over all this time, I've been seeing my cube-collection collecting dust, but with no motivation to even start, how could I change that... But you changed that, your video managed to get me back into cubing, and specifically start blindfold cubing, wich I've been to scared to even try, but im going to try, im gonna grind 3-style! Thank you so much man, you have a huge and bright future ahead of you, never lose sight of that!! Good luck on your journey!!!

Great video Charlie! I think the biggest thing I took from this video is that if you have big intentions right from the start, you'll be able to improve very quickly. Especially in blindfolded where those initial solves can be some of the most demoralising and demotivating ones.

So you took a break when u were 8?
@DrJohnners
@DrJohnners Жыл бұрын
@@Danielbuck_24 Indeed, I could do it in about 2 mins back then, but then like most 8 year-olds I moved onto other things, such as my borother's ZX Specturm. There was no Internet so there was no community, 1980 was very isolating for a young kid. I remember looking at the Friedrich method around 98, as it was called at the time, but it seemed far too complicated, again no real KZbin community. It was only when I accidentally saw a JPerm video that I realised how many resources there now are and bought a new cube. I'm still terrible at F2L and Cross but have at least learnt all of PLL - average of ~80s. I have no time, what with renovating my house and having a full-time job...such is life!

Congratulations on the new WR!!! The reconstruction showed MOVE CANCELLATION between edges and corners... BLEW MY MIND!!! Oldschool BLDer here, epically failing with Old Pochmann in comps at a time Zane Carney broke the MBLD Record, FAZ started doing 5BLD and Aron Pudy Mathew was sub 15 in training on BLD. A broken finger isn't a setback! Remember when FAZ broke his wrist, he practiced OH until he broke the world record (without table abuse :) ) Looking forward to your upcoming videos tips on 3-style, floating buffer and LTCT, and your thoughts on MULTIBLIND. Charlie, you uploaded this during a very dark time in my bld journey thus far. I had just triple DNF’d for the 11th comp in a row. I had no motivation left, I had nothing to show for, I was done. I couldn’t do it. But then I watched this video, to realize some blinders definitely don’t have an easy way up to the top, you were in a similar situation to me with my success rate at the time. But then about a month after this was uploaded I had my next round of 3BLD. I DNFed the first two solves but then, a miracle happened. I got it. And funny you actually commented on Instagram so aye what a great end to it. I had several more rounds of 3BLD after that and was able to drop drastically. If it weren’t for you and this video, none of this would’ve happened. So thank you.

@swiftcubing
@swiftcubing Жыл бұрын
It is best to find your own and what works for you. For algorithms, look at multiple people's sheets and figure out which one fits your turning style the best. And for letter pairs it is completely different for every solver and that's why nobody shares their full sheets really. Just figure out what works for you as everybody knows different things and people that they can use for their letter pairs.

Fantastic video Charlie - it's utterly intriguing and insightful to know what work goes on behind the scenes. I can say for sure that if it wasn't for your /swift/ journey with 3-Style, I definitely wouldn't have learned it as "early" as I did, and thus wouldn't have been as motivated to practise 3bld to get my first official sub-2 today!
