@MoSamuels12 жыл бұрын
You can download an example of my typical SARMS (shoulders and arms) day here for FREE: forms.gle/eR9boctCzmK3nnny5 PS the split I was referring to in the video is incorrect - I think I was meant to say P, P, R, L, SARMS R - That way everything is getting trained twice per week with legs falling slightly below that on frequency.

The puny disgusting stage was after being in the hospital right Mo? How much did your arms grow from where you were before being hospitalized. Ie. what true gains have you made and what was more so due to getting back to lifting and regaining through 'muscle memory'? Cheers. Edit: do you also do shoulders on your push day or leave shoulder exercises as a once per week thing?

MO, I fucking love your channel and this is ongoing from years. I hope you respond or IM NOT COMMENTING FOR THE ALGORHYTM NO MAW! JK. You mentioned that 6-8 sets per workout is fair enough, but 6-8 sets for legs or back or bigger mouscle groups in general sounds too little. Are you doing 6-8 reps for bigger mouscle groups as well? I'm currently stuggling to add more frame and I do around 12-16 sets for bigger mouscle groups and 10 for smaller. I just want to know if that is too much and if that kills my gains so that I should start making less sets. Your answer would be much appreciated!
@MoSamuels12 жыл бұрын
Depends on the type of training you're doing really and genetics - some people are going to be able to handle more volume and progress with that additional volume (say 10-12) where as for the majority of others it will not benefit. Also if you're doing high intensity training then less volume will be necessary. I do slightly more volume on larger muscle groups per session yes - but distribution of volume is going to vary. For example I'm not going to match volume on shoulders to volume on back as shoulders are going to be indirectly targeted with other pressing movements etc

The best bicep move imo is the lat pulldown supinated shoulder width with form the bias little drive with the elbow and more drive with the bicep. The second is preacher curl and the thrid is cable curl with shoulders externally rotated and out the the side like a shoulder press. But overall if pure arm size is the goal tricep work is more important and should be roughly 66 percent of your focus and volume

Muscle memory is insane. Feels like 250mg+ of testosterone. I once went from 155 to like 175 in a week and didnt even look fat. I just ate steak, other good things and trained all day every day. A lot of it was probably water in the muscle, but it looked insane. I'm now steady at 185lbs So I put on 20lbs / 9-10 kgs in one week just by training my whole body every day and eating meat without stopping and I didnt even look fat. Its insane for one week. Went from skinny to muscles Edit: I'm like 5'9/5'10/ 176cm, so its pretty good

I think this is very black and white thinking however it also can be anecdotal. I shifted to a bro split 4 months ago and so far so good. My arms have been such a stubborn muscle group even if my strength goes up with strict form. Prior to it I was training them twice a week and still didn’t notice a difference. I average around 6 sets of direct for each tricep and biceps a week. And these are all taken to failure

That split is actually very similar to what I do, however I split them up even further: 1. Pull & Push 2. Lower, shoulders & arms 3. Rest 4. Pull & Push 5. Lower, shoulders & arms 6. Rest 7. Cardio Splitting them up again allows for higher frequency (x2 a week per muscle group) and performance isn't impacted for each muscle group area at the end of each workout.
@ashtonjohnson3442 жыл бұрын
I can guarantee your not training to your full intensity and capability due to your current split, training both push and pull on the same day will fatigue your endurance way too fast as they are large muscle groups hence you’re not progressing as much and lifting heavier over time. Not only that, you’re training shoulders and arms a day after these push/pull sessions which means that due to the previous day’s fatigue you haven’t given muscle groups such as your biceps, triceps and front delts adequate rest as these muscle groups are largely still incorporated during Chest and back days.
@musicmansam552 жыл бұрын
@@ashtonjohnson344 Thanks for your constructive criticism Ashton! I've personally found that splitting up my workouts like that have helped the performance of the last half of my workouts from diminishing by incorporating two different muscle groups. For example each of my workouts consist of roughly 20 sets total, split into 3 exercises for each muscle group. If I were to change this to only one muscle group I've found that by the 12-15th set I'd see a noticeable reduction in performance which would lead to less progression over time. Plus a few studies have shown that increasing training frequency from 1 to 2 times per week will increase overall progression! I should probably also mention that my shoulders and arms are a genetic strongpoint for me so in general I won't include a load of volume for them, typically 1 exercise each per workout with legs making up the other half. So for people trying to grow their shoulder and arms specifically my split probs isn't ideal but in my case it does the trick! What does your split look like?
