Really believe in the last part about loving your hair rather than seeing it as a burden. It’s about vibe, and energy. When you speak life and love to something (even plants), it grows. It’s the same for our hair. Truly.

I can't speak to everyone's hair care needs but it's really easy to care for my hair and I enjoy the time I spend with it. I'm sad to hear women talking negatively about their hair. But I did have to simplify my routine a lot from when I began. I don't need a million styles anymore. I let her do what she wants. I accept that one side is thinner than the other. It all looks the same once the frizz hits anyway. Lol. I don't try to control her anymore. I serve her needs and we work together. That's how this natural girl rolls.

That last tip is so crucial!! I speak positively of my hair while I massage it and Do not see taking care of it as a burden. I even speak positive affirmations to my hair much like you would a plant , and I kid you not my hair has grown sooooo much just of giving it love and moisture I’m almost at tailbone length.

Love that you mentioned ‘chair in the bathroom’. I always wonder how people stand in the shower for all those hours washing their hair!! 😅. I thought about using a stool but I can’t have the water flowing over my body for all that time - my body starts to itch. I have resorted to over the bath washday. I think it saves so much water as well 😊 Thanks for the tips. Great video 👏🏾👏🏾

Loved the tips but especially resonated with the last bit. I went natural so so many years ago, and my hair has been through it all. It's now finally reached a point where it's had enough and was getting severely damaged. And I wouldn't care for it in nor out of protective styles, for the reason you mentioned, I viewed it as a burden. My attitude is changing as I've now made that choice to put in all the effort. Understanding it will be frustrating at times, but every other area of life where I have come out the other end of frustration and not knowing, I've embraced patience and come out triumphant. Beautiful delivery, you and your hair are gorg.

Love your explanations. Thank you! Tip for wash day (especially for tighter coils)-section your hair in twists. Once you get the hang of it and the order of which twist to lather shampoo etc and rinse first it’ll take less time. Also massage your scalp while saying affirmations and loving on your hair.

I almost shed tears watching this video because I have neglected my hair ever since ever since. I didn't think my hair needed care. I always said bad things about my hair. I would rush doin my hair. And always looked at it as a burden. Never growing pass my chin and if so it was split ends that fell off. So the nape of my neck was my length for ALL my hair life. And im still dreading doin my hair. So yes your right 😢😢😢 if you look at your hair as a burden you will do it less. And thats why I dont have long lushish hair. But get jealous of women that do. 😒... I don't want to look up years later and wonder why I have no more hair. Wearing protective style for 6 months due to laziness and neglect. Which means I only washed my hair every 6 months 😬. But wanted long beautiful healthy hair. Watch other women hair videos but don't take care of mines. 🥺 The time is NOW.

Pro tip: These clays are not for all hair. I did a vinegar and clay coating for the hair (though it would remove buildup from the hair). My hair is still hard from it. Never again will I add in clay. And washing a few days is fine. There are myths out there not to wash frequently.

Your hair is beautiful, your potty mouth is not. Eloquent, intelligent speech is a loss art. Matthew 12:36 King James Version 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

I was bald when I did my big chop (after high school). I didn't have photos of that because I wore weave the whole time unfortunately.

So glad that ur video popped up in my feed. New sub, I’ve been fully natural since 2014 after transitioning for 2 years. Since then I’ve become an extremely lazy natural and barely wear my natural hair. I be lazy ash and don’t feel like washing it. This video motivates me to get my butt up and take these braids down and wash my hair. Time to get back to basics and my old hair routine. Thank you and God bless 🙏🏽🤗.

Yesss you got it! I know it’s a lot of work but it’s worth it and gets easier the more you do it.

Bro I was the color queen too 🥹 I ruined my hair twice since going natural with bleach. I had my fun, now it's time to take this long hair journey seriously.
