Man, Im 51 and currently doing all kinds of research on products and things get started.. Do you think it will be harder to get people to bring their vehicles to you versus being mobile? I got quite a few businesses around me and was gonna approach employees and tell them where im at and see if theyd be willing to drop off their car for a wash and vacuum. Also, I just wanna start with doing just a nice car wash and interior vaccuming with proper equipment. Would you suggest that for someone starting out?
@topstardetailingАй бұрын
@@mariol6095 In my opinion I think drop off will be much harder to get clients… even with a shop. Most people do not want to take time out of their day have to drive somewhere sit in traffic and then have to get a ride home and back to pick up their car or stand around and wait… people paying for these types of luxury services want the convenience and would much rather have you come to them. Mobile is the way to go! I also think you need to be able to offer the full service details not just basic wash and vacuum… you can get those type of customers, but you won’t be able to charge much money for basic type wash/vacuum and you will be working for very little money… you just can’t build a sustainable business model like that unless you are charging enough money to make a decent profit… unless it’s just like a weekend side hustle for you and you’re ok with just making a few extra bucks here and there. Not sure what your experience with detailing is, but maybe do a few cars for friends and family first for whatever they are comfortable paying you with just the basics and see how you like it before investing a bunch of money into it. Or you could even just get an interest list going… ask your list of employees, friends, family first… “hey would you be interested in getting your car detailed sometime?” “How much would you be willing to pay for it?” “Would you be willing to drop your car off?” It’s a good temperature gauge for you to get an idea of if any of those people you are thinking of as potential customers would even be interested before you go buying products and equipment. I will say this- is if those are the only people you plan on offering services to then it won’t be enough… probably only a few people will say yes, out of those yes’s only a couple will actually follow through on it and once they’re done then what? Please understand…Im in no way trying to neg you out, but just want to set some realistic expectations for you. Wish you the best of luck… let me know what you end up doing and how it goes.

Two questions.. How do you keep the sunspots off the cars while washing in direct sunlight? I thought that was a no- no.. And do you take vacations? If so, how often?
@topstardetailing5 күн бұрын
Only use deionized spot free water, cool the panels before apply the soap and work quickly and you should be ok. I usually take a couple weeks off per year, but I work 6-7 days a week all day pretty consistently... I work alot, but I enjoy the grind ;)
@thesamuelrobinson2 ай бұрын
Hey man, great video! I'm just curious because you're pretty relaxed while washing the vehicle in the heat/sun. Doesn't the soap dry on the vehicle? Is that a problem or nah?
@topstardetailing2 ай бұрын
@@thesamuelrobinson great question… it can be at times, depending on time of day and how hot it is outside as well as the color of the vehicle. This was a little earlier in the day so not too bad, black or darker paint you have to work much faster because the panels get really hot fast. I have a video coming out of me doing a matte black car in direct sun and the difference coming soon! It is absolutely necessary to only use deionized spot free water here in Vegas because the tap water is terrible and will leave water spots. I GSF foam to be the best for working in the hot sun because it is PH neutral and rinses off easily and clean without leaving any residue/dried soap behind… provided it’s not sitting out there too long left unattended. Last summer when I was new and just learning I was not so relaxed, but now after detailing hundreds of all different types of vehicles in the triple digit Vegas summer temps I have a good understanding of what you can and can’t get away with and am much more comfortable with it. Thanks for asking… great comment!

@@topstardetailing This is a very detailed and helpful response; thank you! I use Meguiars Gold Class. Based on your response, would I be correct in assuming that even if it dries a little, if I rinse it off within 5-10 minutes, everything should be fine?
@topstardetailing2 ай бұрын
@@thesamuelrobinson I can’t speak from experience using that particular product and the results may vary depending on the temperature outside, the temperature of the panels, the color of the paint…etc I wouldn’t go more than a few minutes to play it safe if it’s really hot. Another helpful tip would be to spray the car down really well before applying the soap… while the soap might not stick as well with it wet you can cool the panels down significantly by spraying it down first. I do this alot in extremely hot weather. Most of the time soap residue will come off anyway, it just makes more work for you having to deal with it later so best to avoid if possible. There will be another more detailed video released soon with detailing in direct sun on a black vehicle ;)

When you mention setting up your webpage and Google page correctly so you don’t have to spend money on ads. How do you set up your Google page and your website correctly? And did you hire a marketing team to do that for you?
@topstardetailingАй бұрын
Great Question!!! What I mean by that is this - your google page & website are going to be the 2 most important things when it comes to organic growth. It is very important that both are functioning at the highest capacity possible to maximize SEO. In order for this to happen you need to have consistency between both. Google - when setting up your GMB page you want to be sure to fill in ALL of the information not just certain sections. You can look at mine as reference. You want all of your products & services with description, high quality attention grabbing photos of your work, you want to consistently be adding updates and new photos at least on a weekly basis, you want to consistently be getting new 5 star reviews. Website - have a professional design & build your website it shouldn't cost more than $1500 -$2000 max but it is worth every penny to have it done professionally. Most website designers/builders are not going to optimize the code on the back pages of your website for this you will need to hire a company that specializes in website SEO and again should not cost more than $1500 - $2000max but these are 2 totally different things and you need both. Website designers/builders build your site to look aesthetic and function properly to take bookings and provide the necessary info to your customers in a way that should be easy for them to navigate and schedule appointments they will put everything into place on the front pages of your site (what customers see)where it needs to go to operate smoothly. The SEO company will write in the code and add the keywords to the back pages of your site (what the google bots see when they are crawling the web for information). Everything on your GMB page should match your website and social media platforms - your hours of operation, the way your name of your company reads must be exactly the same on all platforms, your services... everything should be consistent across all the platforms. Google page is free and you can do it all on your own. Website - unless you are an expert at building websites and SEO optimization I would strongly recommend hiring a professional to provide these services... yes it costs money, but it is also going to be what makes you money. You need both for SEO to work at the highest level and it will take a few months from the time you do it to the time the SEO starts functioning. Hope this helps... would you like us to make a video on this topic?
