Thank you so much for making this video. I have a ten year old SharPei that was left behind by an aunt because she was about to have a baby, and we've never groomed her. She's lived in the ranch since she was two years old, and these last years my parents have been busy with work or too tired to groom her since they are getting on in years, meanwhile I'm out of state in medical school. She occasionally gets sprayed down with the hose, but I've been looking for a video explaining how to properly take care of her and her dirty fur. I have something to do next time I'm back home! Thanks!

They’re gorgeous dogs aren’t they! Coconut oil, or salmon oil in her food can help with dry skin!

yeah evelyne i wash my dog twice also . 1st time never gets all the dirt out . n yu have to get every bit of soap out to . or they get dry skin n dandruff real bad .

He‘s so damn fascinating and cute. A few months earlier, we had to say goodbye to our most beloved dog. Her name was Estella, exactly. That was our most upsetting time ever. We cried a lot later that day, but we were also grateful about her death, because her health and condition wasn‘t as well. Now, my life is complete again. I do some dogwalking in my freetime and that was definitely the greatest choice I‘ve done.

lol if bondi gives you his paw . he wants cuddles . theyre such a beautiful dog . i'd go as far to say the perfect dog . mine doesnt bark unless someone comes in the yard . he's totally house trained . never had an accident indoors . doesnt dig . i have gardens all around my place unfenced . he never goes in them . he snores like a bull lol . he demands attention . he's so fussy with his food . i thought my dog was weird with this thing he does with food . he'll look in the bowl look away . look in the bowl , look away . its like he's thinking ill eat that . no i wont . ill eat that no i wont .. then i saw another shar pei do it , lol i was like , you gotta be fukn kidding me ? lol . but i love him unconditionally as he does me . dont know what id do without him ...

Yes sharpeis are really the best, my Holly is the same only barks at intruders lol, however she doesn’t do that with her food because she’s too busy scoffing it down 🤣

My 12.5 year old Pei doesn’t mind baths. He will ask for cuddles while he is soaking wet so of course I end up wet too! He hates having his ears cleaned though which is a shame because I have to do it all the time for him.

I groom her more regularly when she is shedding which is only 2 a year, but in between this every 1-2 months, she loves her walks but avoids mud/puddles at all costs 🤣 so she stays very clean

I have a 1.5 year old shar Pei. The vet and groomers have refused to cut his nails. There’s no muzzle that fits his mouth. Nails are black and extremely long. Any tips on how to handle him?

Sorry I just seen your comment, my sharpei is the same she wouldn’t let anyone else do it, I would teach yourself to do it! It’s easy once you know what to do, but nail clippers, watch lots of videos online, and just trim a tiny tiny bit at a time and you should be okay x

when you come in from a walk, wipe the paws with a damp microfiber so the nails are clean and then just do a few nails at a time until the dog has no more patience, the rest you'll get each successive walk. Don't trim too much length at once, the nail quick will recede as you get a clipping routine going so you'll be able to get the nails shorter over time. If you cut too much and expose the quick you'll see blood. Just have some styptic powder on hand to dip the nails in and they'll clot. Doing the trimming after a walk works best because the dog is still distracted compared to them laying around and knowing you're coming with the clippers.

No she doesn’t at all! She has never had any skin issues or any allergies which we have been very lucky with😊

@@welshwizzy789 hi wizzy. I’ve found them to be the most fussy eaters out of all the dogs I’ve had. I’ve also found he’s more interested in what I eat. A lot of meat isn’t good for them as they get allergies from too much protein I found that very frustrating. As most dog foods have a standard 24% protein. Which seems too much for them. So I looked for a lower protein dog food. Lol I found them. But the difference from standard to lower was about 50 dollars. Lol. My Bondi hates biscuits. They get stuck in his throat and he coughs a lot when eating them. For the last year I was like you. I was worried he’d get sick or too thin. Keeping in mind. He always wants my food. I decided to cut his dog food down. And add some of mine. I’ve found he loves spaghetti bolognese. Pies. And absolutely loves veggies. Pasta and rice. So I cook a little extra for myself n mix it in with his food. And he eats it all. I have noticed. If you give him anything to eat during the day. He won’t eat his dinner. So I only feed him at night Now n then I’ll give him a pigs ear. And once a day a dental stick. But he’s not hungry. He looks great. Full of energy. And the best dog I’ve ever had. So I suggest try a bit of whatever you have for dinner. N mix it in with half of what you normally feed him. Logically. They’ve spent a couple of thousand years in China guarding temples. So I’d assume they have adapted to rice n veggies. Because mine never knocks it back. I don’t use onion in my cooking mainly because of him. Onions bad for dogs. But everything else he loves. Other than that I’ll suggest. Trying him on chicken. But cook it. They seem to love that. Does yours look in its bowl n look away repeatably like mine use to ? Lol. Funniest thing I’ve ever seen. But don’t ever think they’re just dogs. I think they’re very smart. They’ll try you. They play games lol. Yu just have to be the boss. But in a nice way. N they love Yu forever. Oh. Another thing is. Mine won’t eat can food. I buy the dog food rolls. I get 2 n that lasts me two weeks. 3 kg each. And I cut it into 1 cm cubes. Hope this helps. And hope Yu best friend starts eating. @@durv13 thank you..he is 9 know and he fell ill 6weeks ago with colitis..and absuse in his back leg..totaly went off his food since then..we have struggled to find food he likes..he want eat meat at all..so i just fed him paster mix veg..tuna mato and cheese and hes eat it all..but i know tomorrow we will have same problem..he doesnt seam to want to eat the same thing twice..chicken i find he itches a lot and flickers his ears..anyway hes still on antibiotics its his 4th week on them..i do spole him..do you wash your dogs ears everyday..i have to wash brunos everyday..hes very nervous aswell..hes coast me loads off money..but hes worth it..but thank you ever so much for your help..very much appreciate it.. i hope you get many more enjoyable years with your loved one..kind regards from wales..

honey . you need a shower curtain lol . whenever i get near bondi's head he shakes , so i pull the shower curtain across when i think hes going to do it . or else i end up drenched lol

My boy is no.1 healthy boy &very good shape he not have Much winkles the vets said He never see The sharpie dog are healthy like my dog very proud of him he can Sit, Pull,Lay , Spin and Stop i teaching him But this bleed is quit Stabbed it take times and Time To Train him….👉🏻👌🏼😅😅
