I use to have 3 cats many years ago until we bought our first dog in 1998. I became a dog person their excitement, joy and love for me every day makes my heart sing and that never diminished. However, cats….well we all know they are only about themselves. 😂 A cat is good for people who do not want to do a lot of work. A dog requires lots of work, attention and walks.

I have 3 cats and absolutely adore them. I always grew up with a dogs and ended up adopting a cat for lifestyle reasons and I have learned to really appreciate how special they are

I was the same. When I moved out of my parents house I got a cat and I very quickly realised how much more personality they have! Hopefully I can get another one soon ☺️ thanks for watching too 🫶🏼

I love cats and I love dogs. As long as they don’t disturb the plants they are great. Do you ever cut the stem of your alocasias? I cut the stem on the first green velvet I had and put her next to it in pon when it wasn’t that big. I was surprised she made it. Four or five new plants grew from the bottom of the stem and the other one just kept on growing. So cool :) But if you are going to repot the plant anyways why not burying it deeper. You can always cut the stem when it’s longer and has roots all the way without taking any risks. To grow corms I put them in glass with fluval stratum and put the jars inside a big clear sealed plastic container, same height as yours but a bit wider. I’ve got two of those in a shelf with light above. I’ve had those for a year or so and there is a layer of water at the bottom of the container around the jars just by the condensation created over time 😂 I just don’t use any lids on the glass jars. I believe fluval has this little insects that feed on bacteria and fungus which is so cool. Or maybe they are beneficial insects from last year, but I’ve heard those long insects are pretty common on fluval stratum. I’ve also got some corms in one of those seed trays with a lid in perlite, but I think they will take longer to sprout because they aren’t sealed as tight. Thanks a lot for the video! Love the way you pot your alocasias! Have to remember to try it sometime :)

Haha yes, as long as a cat or dog doesn't destroy the plants 😆 I haven't cut the stem yet on this one! I probably will next repot because it's getting long. I'm just hesitant because I don't want it to lose it's root supply. Very cool about the baby plants though! I hope that happens when I chop the stem I haven't ever used fluval before! I wonder if those little bugs are springtails? I get those on my spaghnum moss. They are good little guys to have around 😁 Thanks again for always watching and for your support! 💚💚💚

Hi just getting into alocasia, very interesting video, a update would be great for those of us that are just getting into these plants. I use semi hydro on 90% of my plants.

@@blackbeauti1540 thanks so much for watching! I'll most likely do an update on them. So far some have sprouted since I filmed this 🙂

When I have grown corms in the past, I had seen a very clear “worm” looking things around the corm. First time freaked me out and I threw them out. The next time I treated it and kept it now I have a new plant. I don’t know why or what they are, but I feel like it comes from moss and humidity.

Holy smokes your Frydek is huge!! That is a big reason I am not a fan of tall plants they hang like that and I don’t like poles 🤷🏻♀️
