Update: I'm amazed at how quickly it sprouts with this method. I was doubtful, since other YT videos suggest other methods. I tried those and after weeks of nothing resembling sprouting I tried your method and I was surprised to see that little spout peeking out after only 2 days after putting the chayote in the plastic bag inside a dark container. I really appreciate your video and I'm glad I found it before giving up completely. --- Great video explanation. Thank you for the subtitles too.

อยู่เมืองไทยไม่เคยกินฝักแม้ว เพิ่งเคยจะได้ยินชื่อและลองกินก็เมื่อ 6-7 ปีที่แล้ว เพื่อนคนไทยให้เอามาลอง ไม่รู้ว่าเค้าเอามาทำเมนูอะไร ลองกินแล้วติดใจ ทั้งที่ตอนที่เพื่อนให้มามันค่อนข้างแก่มากแล้ว เอามาลวกกินกับน้ำพริกแล้วติดใจ ได้ลองอีกครั้งคือ เพื่อนชาวอินโดฯเอามาให้ 2-3 ลูก แต่มีลูกนึงที่กินไม่ทัน แล้วมันเริ่มเกิดหน่อ ก็เลยเอาไปปลูก ปลูกง่ายม้ากกกกทุกวันนี้ปลูกแค่ต้นเดียวผลผลิตกินไม่ทัน ตอนนี้ลูกแก่จัดร่วงเต็มพื้น แค่ปล่อยทิ้งบนพื้นดินเฉยๆก็เกิด ลูกเท่ากำปั้นอร่อยสุดเพราะรสชาติหวานกินได้ทั้งลูก ลูกแก่จัดต้องปลอกเปลือก เอาแกนออกไม่งั้นจะเหมือนบวบแก่ เมล็ดก็อร่อยมาก รสชาติเหมือนเมล็ดขนุนต้ม สรุป ฝักแม้วกินได้ทุกอย่าง ทั้งใบ รากและเมล็ด มีประโยชน์ด้วย

I keep in plastic bag for four nights, most will have sprouted, however you can keep them in for longer. Then plant in the pots for two weeks. After chayote grow with big green leaves you can plant it in the garden. Hope this will helpful for you 😊

@@glendamonsen3578 i have never ever got a chayote growing this plant. I live in the west & summer is the only time I always sow them but I eat the leaves which is very expensive in the market . This year someone told me not to cut the leaves & it will produce chayotes, well I waited till all the leaves has withered & not a chayote in sight.

Chayote will take 2-3 months to make flowers and fruit. If grown in bad weather it may take longer. Also good fertiliser may help . Thank you so much for watching 🌱😊

Here in the philippines,it grows everywhere,putting it in a ziplock is unnecessary,its just slowing them to grow ,just put it in the backyard and let them grow just put a net,it will serve as a guide

Yes, sadly this is not the best way to grows them, last year I grow one as first, but I know this plant behave, the flower only open on new branches with a few and with few fruits in the end, to make it produce more, have to cut the main branch and let it grow more new branches before it has flower, basically my plant has grown over 20 branches and we were able to collect close to 100 fruits, and have to give away half of them to friends as so much. this year we planted 4 new one with different type in different spot of the garden, we have to wait till the summer come as we are in Australia, this plant loves the sun so much, also if doing correctly, it could produce over 200 fruits with just one plant.
