For anyone wondering, this is basically a 2 fold scheme that's legal. You have a company where your profits are paid into. You pay yourself a small amount which is taxed at a regular rate. You company holds onto the rest of the money which will do things like buy up properties and suffer "losses" which will give you tax breaks greatly reducing the taxes that you owe. If you do not have a lot of money (meaning if you cannot buy properties or some other type of physical value that is taxed and can have losses) this type of set up is not useful to you.

CRATs are far more complicated than an account you can rollover gains into and then purchase annuities with, keep in mind these type of advanced strategies are not advisable for the normal person

@Delimon007

It's in another company essentially that is only paying out 8-9% of that to you. The rest of that goes towards buying properties and the like which would count towards losses to give you tax breaks. This is essentially rich people stuff and how they get away with paying less taxes. For the average person this information is moot.

What he doesn't mention is when you purchase a CRAT you are entitled to donate that entire $1million to charity upon your death. The money cannot be given to next of kin.

Those aren’t capital gains. It’s interest taxes federally. Stock or mutual funds or ETF’s give capital gains but also if you sell stock after 1 year at a gain or loss

It’s bs how the USA has about 330M people and the average salary in the USA is $59,384 yr with an average yearly tax of 30% which equals all of us paying close to $6 TRILLION in taxes! Yet we have to watch videos for tax breaks because they keep increasing or finding other ways of taxing us more

Charitable Remainder Trust is a tax sheltering vehicle that needs to be drafted by a competent attorney and CPA. The Charity is going to to GET the REMAINDER of the trust thus tax write off. The money insurance policy or annuity that the TRUST purchases on the individual benefits the individual and the heirs. Very complicated. There are other KZbin videos out there that go in depth about them. They do cost $$$ so it’s not something for us in washed heathens.
