Brian, as a self-employed entrepreneur, in this country there’s a saying I ALWAYS tell my business associates and that is…It’s not hard to make money in this country, it’s hard to keep it! I think that your tax saving tips are outstanding, but I would have liked for you to have included the many advantages of being self-employed and especially the many tax advantages there are when investing in Real Estate. After all it’s not just about lowering your taxes but also about building assets. Doing both is dependent on having/knowing the correct information to legally use the system of IRS regulations to your advantage.

Like he said at the beginning, these tax tips are for the everyday people o he’s not covering them in this video. Maybe he covers them earlier will cover them some time later. However, there’s a lot of tax deductions and break for the rich especially in real estate. Since you start getting into real estate or building your own business, those tax rules will come in very handy.

Why do I need to pay taxes well y'all proceed to complain the roads aren't good, snow isnt plowed on time, no public-school teachers available, no free college, no free health care...I can keep the list going. I can expand on this issue bcuz I was in public service and saw firsthand idiots who don't support proper tax allocations. But then people are openly donating to politicians who actually move the tax money around to favor themselves and the private corporations backing them. At the end of the day y'all just played yourselves.
@krunchyapples Жыл бұрын
Because you and I both know that the majority of our taxes don't actually do any of that crap. It all either gets wasted on stupid projects that don't actually accomplish anything that was set out to do, gets spent on the administrative costs of a copiously bloated bureaucratic system, or is used in $1.7 trillion 5000 page omnibus spending bills that no one asked for which *somehow* end up making the crooks and criminals in DC richer because most people don't grasp how much of a stranglehold lobbyists have on that god forsaken place. So yea, unless the people actually start getting some real representation from our government I do not believe they deserve a single dime.

@@monkeypolicd the problem is those in charge of our tax dollars make sure the majority goes to them, their friends, families (in forms of contracts etc) and back to their party. Best advice for self employed is get a CPA. Will only cost a few hundred a year and they will help you setup the best structure for your specific situation. E.g. going with an S-Corp election is generally a good way to save on taxes, but for some will just add work/expense w/o any real benefits. The CPA will also keep up on changes and new things as well as now you have someone to talk to the IRS for you if that is ever needed.

Best advice is in the first 15 seconds... get a CPA. It becomes worth it as soon as you consider not taking the standard deduction and doing a simple 1040EZ. I'm not a CPA, just a regular schlub who did his own taxes for about 15 years before I started getting stock. Mitigating your tax burden is legal and should you get audited, it's nice to have liability shielded.

Property tax is levied to pay for the services which protect and enhance your property. Or at least that’s the theory. In reality, the very rich use loopholes to avoid most of it. And that leaves you to pay for the overpriced “services” of your city and county, stuffed with pensions and unnecessary costs. It’s an injustice, but it does serve to highlight that when all is said and done, they do it to you because they can. So bend over and let the tyrants slowly f you in the arse while they say pretty words about how compassionate they are.

If I don't get anything from this video other than the fact I got to watch your introduction where you told everyone to enjoy the money you helped them save made my night.

Great video. Consider the Fact that all taxation is theft at gun point and through deception. Also consider the fact that money placed in IRAs, 401ks is lost to you until a certain age and Inflation eats a huge amount of any savings. So maybe finding a way to Offshore ones savings would be worthwhile.

Thank you. It's clear and concise information like this that will help people. If it's too far into the weeds with technical jargon the majority end up unable to properly understand or utilize the information. Thanks for keeping things simple and to the point. Great advice.

Brian I appreciate all the information you post! It helps all of us so much! Any chance you could do a video like this for 1099 employees?

Funny how useful this is, already filed mines tho. Anyone of these even the ones that take 2 minutes to do on my phone, shorter than it takes to write this message, could have saved me a couple hundred to thousands.

own a business as an llc and run it at a loss, intentionally, and utilize “tax loss carry forwards”. Boom. Zero taxes for you. Haha I do not know if I am accurate on that but I remember learning about tax loss carry forwards in college and it blew my mind that something like that is and has been legal for decades in the United States.

I love all your videos. Thank you for taking the time to educate everyone with your knowledge. Id like to see this video but for small business owners. Like under 500,000 a year small business owners.

And the minimal rental use rule is good but you can't deduct any of your rental expenses. Since you aren't reporting any rental income.

Great info. The Dependent Care FSA was one I hadn't heard of before. I could see that one thing saving us a few thousand a year in taxes for school expenses, babysitters, aftercare, after school programs, and day camps.
@HartPv Жыл бұрын
It’s not that useful, the contribution limit is $2,000 a year which is less than i pay in a month. Also you can just deduct it when you do your taxes which you’re going to have to do anyway because you can only set aside $2,000 through the FSA
@MSTRgme Жыл бұрын
Another issue, is you have to report every dollar you gave and to whom. So unless you want to report your babysitter income (taxes on the cash), out of luck.

I paid 173% into taxes for the last 4 years. The gov had been destroying me because I was slightly above "middle class" making 85k a year.
